Since I am planning on making more soundpacks in the future, i will just gather them all in this thread, rather than start a new one each time....
What I try to do is replace those eerie ghast sounds with something less nerve-wrecking.
Everybody who spends a lot of time in he- the nether.... probably knows how annoying those ghasts get after a while. They screech everywhere, all the time.
So here's a (hopefully growing) list of soundpacks, that should make things easier for you, or just spice things up a bit differently.
Note: The he- nether-creatures spam A LOT of sounds pretty much constantly. I realize that as far as annoyances go, this is not really a step up, for that matter I can only recommend disabling the sound samples. However these soundpacks are meant to be a lot less creepy than what you have to deal with normally.

-Ghasts are cats now
-Zombie Pigs are dogs now
-added custom hurt- and click-sounds too, but they are inactive unless you rename them

special thanks to didzo for the idea.
-removed most sounds. ghasts and pigs will only emit sounds while attacking or getting hurt.

-----------
To Install:
-----------
-type %appdata% in search bar and open "Roaming" folder
-start up minecraft to the point where you see your main menu (singleplayer, multiplayer, options)
-open ".minecraft" folder and copy and paste the "resources" folder in this archive there, replacing existing files
since minecraft redownloads all sounds every time you start the game and log in, you will have to repeat this step every time you open minecraft in order for the sounds to work.
I highly recommend using Epinull's Sound Mod Enabler as it will make your life, using this mod, a lot easier and you won't have to replace the sound files every time you start the game.
enjoy~

I use Mediafire or Rapidshare for hosting files. For images i use Imageshack or TinyPic. I had no problem with your file host though. Worked fine.
How about doing a creepy, scary, spooky sound pack. Or a sounds of hell sound pack. I found a lot of creepy, scary, hell sounds on youtube. Have fun! =D

The video with the HUD you saw belongs to metalvixxen. However you can get the HUD here in this thread. HUD-Pumpkinblur. There is a selection of them, just go through the thread.

sorry for the confusion =^^=
yeah it's a pumpkin helmet hud reskin...
i will give that creepy hell a try soon, but essentially the idea was to make hell less creepy xD
no matter though, i already have some ideas for what sounds i could use :3 thank you for your interest in this project x3
here's a failed soundpack... the idea seemed good, but the execution was a catastrophe (i disabled more than half the sounds and the sound-spam is still immense)

added aperture soundpack v1
so far by far the least "spammy" soundpack. all random sounds in the nether have been removed.
sounds will only sound in combat situations.
the zombiepigs are still somewhat annoying and too high pitched. i will try to sort that out in a future release...
enjoy~ :3

Hi there, you may want to transfer over your sound packs to this new mod that me and CrazyPutJe made. It works better than Sound Mod Enabler. http://www.minecraft...acks-beta-v073/
