Derum Mines
A journey into the heart of the Derum Mines

Map Info:
Author: R3sistance
Date: 05-Nov-2011
Version: Beta 1.0.0

Description:
Derum Mines is an adventure map that I have been working on in my spare time. Derum mines originates from Minecraft 1.6.x (maybe 1.5.x), but because of the recent updates to the biome generation code I have had to make this slightly more linear then I had originally hoped for. To get around this issue I have supplied side paths and routes to some of the explorable areas within this map.

Derum Mines is designed for 1 to 3 players. To make Derum Mines a slightly better multi-player adventure map, I have attempted to place all of the story line into the map; This means there is no requirement for tabbing out to check random .txt files at any point during the adventure.

Requirements(-) and Recommendations(~):
- Derum Mines only requirement is Minecraft Beta 1.9 Prerelease 5 or later.
~ I would recommend the single player commands mod for single player
~ any texture pack should be fine (just note the picture in the tavern at the start is a picture of a creeper).

Synopsis:
You have been hired as a Mercenary by Lord Redmace to investigate the recent disappearance of all the miners from Derum mines. This disappearance co-insides with rumors of undead seen around the area of the Derum Mines and so Lord Redmace wishes you to investigate these rumors as well.

As you arrive at the miners lodge with only the bare essentials on you, you see no trace of any of the miners that should be found within. With no clues and no witnesses, your only choice is to venture into the Derum Mines to discover what fate may have befallen the miners.

Rules:
NOTE: The rules are shown in game, this makes things a bit easier for multi-player servers.
- You can destroy Clay, Gravel, Mob Spawners and any player placed blocks.
- You can not place blocks to make jumps easier or to bridge over gaps.
- You can place blocks for crafting purposes (where the placed block was found or crafted)
- Puzzle Room items are only for that room only.
- You can use any difficulty except Peaceful

Optional Rules:
~ You can set the time to night for using beds (only where beds are found, not placed)
~ You can use TP but you must sacrifice 1 point per usage.
~ Points are represented by Coal Ore blocks.
~ Points are optional
~ Breaking any rule costs 3 points
~ All Jukeboxes already have music disks in them, so you can use these to add a bit of sound.

Misc:
I'm temporarily calling this map a beta for a couple of reasons, mainly just in-case of any mistakes I have made as this is my first minecraft adventure map but also just in-case there are any small changes between prerelease 5 and the major release of minecraft slated for November the 18th. The map design is not liable to change on any large scale but small scale changes may occur between versions. If this map gets enough popularity I may make a sequel to this sometime in the future. I would also like to say that I am open to constructive criticism and advice.
