I don't know which section this goes in-- so don't yell at me if it's incorrectly sorted.

I was wondering if there's a link to the old 1.7.3 minecraft.jar. There are some mods I want to download, but they only work in 1.7.3, so I need the old .jar. If you have a fairly "official" link, please tell me-- I'm a little skeptical of downloading minecraft.jars, fearing that they'll steal my account. So, yeah, it needs to be a trustworthy link.

Thanks in advance.

Sending .jars is against the law.

Really? I thought that was only for hacked clients and stuff...

Sadly it is against the law to distribute minecraft.jar. But (I'm gonna get the hell flamed out of me) I don't see the harm in pirating a old version IF you really bought the game. Ive seen a couple downloads for 1.7.3. Notch needs to make download page for all versions.

I don't really trust pirated versions, anyway.

Well, I'll see if there's another way I can get ahold of 1.7.3

If you've been playing for as long as it looks like you have, just go into your minecraft folder and it should have copies of all of the old *.jars there.

Try using this mod, it will allow you to change your .jar legitimately to whatever version you want without having to illegally download them. MCNostalgia Happy Mining! ^.^

EDIT: Guy above me posted something similar while I was typing this and pulling out my bookmark, lol.

Redistributing the Minecraft jar breaks Minecraft's Terms of Use, and so also breaks our forum's policy.

Unless you saved a backup you can use MCNostalgia to downgrade your Minecraft:

Other than that, there's no other legal way to downgrade as far as I'm aware.
