Server is all water

So I set up the server on my Mac running OS X Lion the server seems to start fine and I can connect to it and all is well until I enter the world!  It like I'm spawning in the middle of the ocean I try to swin to land .... but there is NO land...only water .  Here are my settings?  What the heck Am I doing wrong?

My first guess is that you have a bullshit seed and should try a new map.  If the ocean floor is not generated normally, it might be something more complicated.

Yeah it is really boring. When I updated my server from 1.7 to 1.8 the same thing happened Posted Image. But what you can do is use MCEdit and import another world or can you remake the map.

Same thing happend to me and my friends either generate a new world or have a rousing game of survival island. C:

nothing wrong. Some places have big oceans. Oceans are big, after all.

Just explore more, or make a new map.
Did your world disappear from minecraft? Is it corrupt? Lags? Can't move? "Saving Chunks" Crash? Crashes when you open chests? It can be saved!
