how to follow coordinates for minecraft

ok ive been trying to follow coodinates (to get to a stronghold) but the problem is when i try to i can never get the coordinates to match up when the X is right the Z and Y are way off can someone teach me how to follow cordinates

x is for the depth. If you move 1 direction. the z or y will change.
For example. moving forward cahnges the z coordiantes. Moving to the left or right changes the y coordinates.

The only thing I can say is 'Keep moving until the coords are what they are supposed to be"
If a coord is changing in a way it shouldn't: turn around (or turn 90°). It's not that hard...

EDIT: Try to get one coord right and then move in a way that coord stays the same so you can correct the other one...

well it seems when i move up or down (flying) y moves and when i go (east west north south) X moves

Not an insult, but I'm assuming you're like 15 or younger, having not taken geometry.

X axis is horizontal -North/+South. Y axis is vertical. Z axis is horizontal +East/-West
Did your world disappear from minecraft? Is it corrupt? Lags? Can't move? "Saving Chunks" Crash? Crashes when you open chests? It can be saved!

i dont kno how u r meant to see the x y and z thing when u play minecraft.wat do u press to see the co ords

Sorry, but this is wrong. y is vertical, x and z are horizontal.
