Design by Tomys on the RDF server

Watch the video, and before you ask, the best way to go down is to dig a 1x1 hole, put some water at the bottom, and Jump!

Me and my friends repeatedly tried to make this type of elevator. However it only worked in certain positions / at certain changes of height. What we found is that this elevator continually pushed us out of the elevator when we were about 12 blocks off the ground. Sucks doesn't it? Weirdly this happenned with All elevators we tried except the snake style ones. (The traditional 1 wide stacked piston version). We currently haven't tried out the new engine style elevators however...

Did you try with 1 tick or two? two is for servers, 3 even, depending on the lagg levels.

The point of this elevator is its size [6x3] and its speed [2 ticks/floor] and that its easy for people who dont know much about redstone to build, and anyway, you can just make water at the bottom of your mineshaft instead of adding a down feature.

A lot of elevators try to go with real-life, which is multi floor and up+down use. I've never been in an elevator in which you have to jump into a pool of water to get down yet.
