I made this self-building/repairing stone wall that can be expanded to a maximum of 10 blocks thick and no limit on length.
At time 1:50, I show how the piston floor base of the wall is powered -- I've never seen this design before, so I think I can safely claim I invented that method of powering a piston floor Nevermind that, somebody beat me to it :P

I'll post a tutorial if enough people want one.

Redstone ftw.

The floor is made like this:

It's nice you have figured out it by yourself, but it can be any thick and wide.  ;)

It can't have any thickness, actually, because of the 12-block limit on pistons :)

Oh, get it! Btw, I forget to ask how you made stone generators.

Stone is created when lava flows directly down onto water. I just hooked up some pistons to push  the stone out of the way and make room for the next batch of stone. Go to this thread to see the generators themselves in greater detail.

Well nice job and everything, but sorry, the floor has been designed before. But good job on finding it yourself. The only problem this has is that if you are going to make an enclosed space like castle walls with this, it would be impossible to build the corners. (I think)

Do you think I ought to work on making self-building turrets? Square corners would be fairly simple to make, but round ones would definitely be a challenge.

Thanks, it's really good to know. And that's a nice video you have there. :)
