Hello everyone and you are probably having trouble making your own texture pack.
Well i will show you just how to create one.
First you wanna go to start and type %appdata%.
Then go in .minecraft.
Then in bin.
Then open the minecraft.jar with winrar.   get winrar here.
Then create a new folder on your desktop.
Drag the following folders and files in the folder.
achievement
armor
art
environment
gui
item
misc
mob
terrain
title
pack.png
pack.txt
particles.png
terrain.png

Once you have done that close your minecraft.jar and your bin.
Open your texture pack folder that you made.
You need paint.net for this.      get paint.net here.
To edit blocks Open terrain.png with paint.net
Then edit.




Once you have edited what you want save it and exit out.
REMEMBER TO SAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want to edit items go to gui.
Then open with paint.net items.png




Discover what what is.
..Hint..
If you put it to public then first edit pack.text wich is what is sais in the texture pack menu.
And pack.png
Which is how it will appear.

This is very inportant.
If you are done editing and want to play do this.
Make a new winrar ZIP file.
IT MUST BE ZIP.
Then put your editet stuff in.
Go open minecraft.
Go to mods and texture packs.
And open texture pack folder.
Then put the ZIP file in.
Then if you want to change it go back to your folder make a new zip file and do the same.

How to update your texture pack to 1.0.0.

Its very simple not pictures required i think.
Just put everything from the new version minecraft.jar
And into your texture pack folder.
Its as simple as that.

You should tell people to get GIMP (awful name but great program) image editor so they can have an easier time messing with opacity levels and colors.

I really need help. I am creating a texture for a new item one person wanted me to make but how do I start? Do I just open paint.net and just start coloring? Or do I need to do something? Help?
EDIT: I am not the one creating the item, he only wants me to do the texture.

Remember that it takes a lot of work and skill to make an epic texture pack.

Here
Get all the stuff from your %appdata% .minecraft bin then minecraft.jar that it says.
Then put it in a folder.
Go to gui.
Right click items then open with.
Then paint.net
