Damn can you read my mind or something? haha, well at the moment im working on a redstone-equivalent 'rope' and rope can be triggered by a tripwire etc. And in this mod i in no way want to spoil the 'wilderness feel' of minecraft and will not have modern weapons, i was honestly thinking about a crossbow too :P.

UPDATE: Trip wire, triggered by any living creature(including yourself) it will send out a constant redstone signal, however hopefully in the next update i will get the redstone equivalent 'rope' working and will only trigger rope.

P.S. Would anyone like to make a 'mod review' or a 'lets play' series with the wilderness mod :D?

im currently making a video about it showing all the features, that will be up later today i hope :D

ive been having alot of fun harming poor little animals.... muahahhahaa :3

Respond Please! EDIT: SOLVED

I have forge and I have your mod, but whenever I hit something, the game says saving chunks, then leads into a black screen.

Edit: It only says that in survival, when I try to hit something and not in creative

EDIT:
PROBLEM SOLVED
It wasn't this mod, it was some other mod, I never found out what it was. I simply dragged and dropped modloaderMP, modloader, and forge into minecraft.jar again. I had to delete .minecraft so many times...

Any chance you could do a clean reinstall with just modloader, forge and this mod to test if its a conflict? Because i just done a clean reinstall and survival works fine for me.

I have idea's for a additional trap's to your mod:

a snare! a mob walks into it and chokes to death,

A dead-fall trap: a mob walks under it for the bait (see next idea for info on bait) and the mob will nudge the stick and the rock will splat it (if you can code that)

Bait: why wait for a mob to walk into the traps... it will take forever unless you nudge em in, so why not use bait? some kind of food that attracts a pacific mob to that bit of food, eg: put seeds on the deadly trap so a chicken will walk on the trap to eat it (right click bait on trap thats already been placed and trap becomes something else, eg: baited Deadly trap)

A Trapping pit: animal walks over a trap door like device that only opens going DOWN (not up!) so the mob gets stuck in that whole where there could be spikes or something.

For more info on the traps, Google em, they're very easy to make in real life. (i know this because i use these out in the country.)

It would be cool if there was some leaves (or grass so it looks good) mob and/or player walks on to it and they fall to they death or something. Can you make this SMP that would piss so many people off please do it for your fans.

u should make it so if u craft wild grass/tall grass like u would a trap door or glass pane it would make grass flooring that u could put over pit falls and disguse them

Why did you add trip wires? Why not just use pressure plates?

Here's a few suggestions:

Scarecrows: Attracts/provokes hostile mobs towards it, and causes passive mobs to run in fear from it. Good for luring into traps!

Crafted like so (change recipe if you want):

Creeper = Pumpkin
Wheat = Hay Block

Hay/camo block: Block that steals texture of block beside it and collapses 0.5 seconds (for timing, because instant break is too fast and mobs can get away) after being stepped on by mobs (or the player).

Crafted like so:

:////: :////: :////:
:////: :////: :////:
or just
:////: :////: ::
:////: :////: ::
:: :: ::

Wheat = Tall grass/leaves/wheat/vines.

Make passive mobs always afraid and faster than the player, to make catching them without traps actually difficult. Otherwise, you can just grab a sword and slash some defenseless pigs that aren't faster or afraid of you. (Optional?)

Tripwires remain active, pressure plates don't.

Ah, I had an idea similar to that, but it seems tall grass works better than wheat.
