You've heard from a trustworthy source of yours that Mr. Atson, who lives in the large manor by the coast, has gone away on holiday for the winter. Rumour has it that Mr. Atson, the wealthy hermitted inventor, possesses a very rare golden apple.

Mr. Squashhead seems to think that would bake into a very delicious pie (not pumpkin), so he wants you to steal it for him.

"Why can't you get it yourself, mush-for-brains?!", you exclaim.

"Because I got no legs, ya blockhead!" Mr. Squashhead thinks for a bit. "I'll make you immortal if you get me that apple."

And so here you are on this little island, about to burgle a manor. Oh, and your friend also tagged along for fun.

"Hi," waves he.

Hello Minecraft Forums!

I have created another co-operative map for you and your bestest buddy ever to play all up in the interwebs(worldwide. 2009)! It is puzzle-oriented for exactly 2-players. It's also huge. I would estimate 4-5 hours to finish.

Other Notes:
------------
* Minecraft 1.1 has some new biome code. Mr. Atsons's manor is now in a colder climate. It doesn't really affect anything major, but it wasn't originally intended. His pool now ices over.

* Occasionally, there will be "maintenance shafts" you may encounter. If you suspect the puzzle has failed or jammed for some reason or another, you may break the glass to investigate. (To put your worries at ease, you shouldn't need to use these unless something dearly catastrophic were to occur.)

* If you reach a door labelled "Vault", and there appears to be stone directly behind the door blocking the way, you've found a bug. I have no idea what causes this (but I suspect it might be server-related redstone silliness, when the map is unloaded and reloaded). The best way to fix this is to start with a fresh map and teleport both players to that location (/tp [player] -355 32 90). Alternately, you can simply break the stone, but then you get into all sorts of sequence-breaking shenanigans. Unfavoured.

1.07 (2012-08-27)
- Added a book to the starter chest with the story
- Beautified the wilderness
- De-camouflaged some buttons
- Moved a pressure plate closer to the thing it activates
- Removed lever that re-closes the white door (potentially traps a player)
- Fixed the minecart puzzle sometimes not being able to reset itself
- Other minor stuff (signs, aesthetics, a secret thing...)

1.06 (2012-03-16)
- Fixed redstone torch not properly powering some rails

1.05 (2012-03-05)
- Fixed double doors
- Other minor changes

1.04 (2012-02-15)
- Changed redstone in Golden Apple room. Fewer block updates all at once. Also won't pre-maturely trigger itself for no reason at all.
- Changed redstone for 5-lights puzzle. Faster and more reliable now.
- Made a slightly better ending because the old one is crap
- The minecart for entering the secret bonus room is less likely to get stuck mid-way or kill you for mounting it.
- Dug a bigger cave to secret bonus room
- The buttons to extend the retractable stairs to the basement now also opens the way ahead, rather than having another pressure plate to do that as in previous versions
- Added an extra minor room after first minecart ride to keep players together
- Added hint signs for people who cheat their way into impossible-to-reach rooms
- A ladder I missed in the previous version is now climbable
- Minor aesthetic changes

1.03 (2012-01-14)
- Minecraft 1.1 removed ladder collision. This is now accounted for.
- Certain beds have been replaced (thanks SirDiablo!)
- Fixed areas where it's possible to get stuck
- Added better visual indicators to puzzles
- Aesthetic change in the room before the word puzzle
- Some other minor aesthetic changes

1.02 (2011-11-22)
- Fixed redstone wiring for 1.0.0
- Modified architectural features for less annoying jumping
- Modified some puzzles to be less annoying/more clear
- Modified some puzzles to remedy issues introduced by 1.0.0
- Aesthetic changes to be more consistent with continuity
- Other minor fixes
- Added secret thing

1.01 (2011-11-10)
- Completely rejiggered the 5-lights puzzle to work more reliably
- Modified redstone in golden apple room so it now uses a (cob)web-based solution!
- Moved lever inside white gate farther away
- Added auditory feedback to 2-lever room before control room B

Really this is THE BEST map ive ever played O___O
Sadly the map breaks in the big lava chamber (golden apple)... or im super dumb...
So had to place a torch to go on, but even with that... was amazing.
PLEASE make another! pleaseeeeeee!!

All those secret thingies, the "happy bday to me" thing i only saw on my second playtrough

just amazing, really... great work. YOU are really in another level, great humor everywhere and great dedication to the redstone systems.

I think the place with the wool and glowstone numbers is broken cause we didn't had a yellow wool on the ground.

Haha, I don't know how long it took. About August 8 is when I started building. Maybe 250-300 hours? Although most of that time was spent on planning, polishing, and procrastination.

O.O anyways, THAT IS A LONG TIME! more than 200 hours... but was worth it.
Again, amazing map, i still have to try the first map you made, but if it is multiplayer like this one ill need to wait a week or something to get my slave (friend) to play with me.

Btw that room where you got the buttons on the wall with redstone torches over them, and a pressure plate on the floor a few steps back... omg... too hard...
No one at home was able to find out how to turn all the lights on, so we just gave up.
Besides of that, every single puzzle was just EPIC!

NOTE: why there was a leather armor in a chest? why there was SO MANY items like food and so little uses for them (2 or 3 pressure plates only).
If you play on peacefull you dont need food O.O

Q&A time? Sure.
