What can you do with it?
--  Gamemode id´s up to 99.
--  Gamemode id needs to be higher than 4.
--  Add 500 buttons to the world creation menu.
--  Set a start dimension. (You will get teleported to the selected dimension when you just generated the world)
--  Switch through two saves folders!

how does this work? not as in code, but what do you mean "new gamemodes".

You can now only chose 2 gamemodes: Survival and Creative
With this you can add more gamemodes than only Survival and Creative.

This is genius. I don't make mods, but I don't have to to know that this is genius and will probably be used in many mods. +1 for you.

Like what does the game mode do??? Like is it kinda like half of survival and creative or is it just a hardcore gamemode

This is not a game mode, this is an api. It allows multiple mods to add new game modes without conflicting with each other.

michielcx, here's a challange for you. See if you can find a way to make the gamemode spawn a certain type of world. For example a flatland for redstone testing, a void for creative testing or a mode that spawns you in the nether.
