I like how you simply took the 16² default textures and tiled them. At least, for a quite a few of them. Are they placeholders or final?

You are goddamn awesome for this.

It's a shame I can't use this, because it looks great in-game.

This is awesome, are you going to make HD skins of the armors and mobs too?

NukeFishy said:

I would like to see updated skins for the mobs as well.
It's on the cards but I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Keeping the same style will be tricky for the mobs.

I'm happy with them myself, it's where this texture pack started and it contributes to it still looking like minecraft, but I've been asked to redo them and I said I'd give it a go. Some are placeholders: the original snow doesn't tile so I'll fix that, sponge, perhaps cloth, I want to make the stones bigger on dirt similar to the alternative I linked in the OP.

I can only run this texture pack on my desktop and not my laptop; The laptop struggles horridly using the original textures on low fog.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words.

Update time!

Today I made some small additions including new moon, sun, watch dial, watch icon, boat texture, mine cart texture, first attempt at armour, and some

I've tweaked the watch icon and replaced the sun/moon display. There's a new sun and moon texture. Yielding to request I've done all the armour. Boats and mine carts now have replacement textures and I replaced items/doors.png but I'm not sure where it's used. The player inventory now has the head, feet, legs, and body outlines which I missed before. I've started work on the paintings and want to get crops done.

Small Update

I finally finished the wheat and found it was easier than expected. I also had a good look at all the mob textures and have decided to give them a go; I've made a first attempt at the chicken, it being the simplest mob. Most mob textures have a lot of added noise. I can get around the noise one of two ways: I can turn the noise pixels into patches of colour or I can ignore them and add my own noise later. I have been using the former up until now but I'll try both.

A suggestion: Istead of making the animals have square shaped black eyes and white pupils, you should make the eye white and the pupils black and being rectangular and make them having a derp face :Pig: :iapprove:

Loving this pack! Just needs a few of the fire textures sorting out, since it seems I can no longer use the MCPatcher method to install packs if I want to play multiplayer. Great job. :SSSS:

VERY NICE! Just like the default textures, but in a better quality. I'm so picky when it comes to textures, but this one is just perfect. Nice work.

My, how you have grown little texture pack. I are so proud.

I've been interested in this one since I first saw bits n' pieces of Zombuster's work on other forums, which led me here and got me obsessed with texture packs and this forum section in general. :D

Small Update:
I tweaked the grass /snow sides so that they wrap around corners. All the cobble variants needed the bottom two rows needed fixing. After many failed attempts at the sapling I have something I can release.

I've also tried improving the chest textures.

Download - Rename it terrain.png, open minecraft.jar with WinRar, drag terrain.png in.

I'm working on new leaf and sponge textures. Obsidian and the ores need tweaking. I want to finish the chicken and look at other mobs.

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind.

Would you mind if I used that image in the OP? I'll have to keep my eye out for the article :D.

I can only work on it at the weekend. Updates will get smaller as I've got the bulk of things done save some tweaking. Mobs will be tricky and slow me down.

I'm glad you all like it so far. Thanks for your kind words.

Awesome texture pack, only problem is that the cobblestone needs to tile a little better, apart from that it's awesome ;)

You're not the only one but then some have said they like how I did that. I got used to it after a while but I've said I'll try making alternatives.

You want to follow my installation guide. It should work after that.

I noticed this myself yesterday, I'll try and tweak it when I get a chance.

Thanks again everyone who posted.

I love it and will use it! But I agree with the others, looking at tree logs makes me feel like a giant with giant trees... The rest of the tiling looks great (except for sponge but thats not even used) but logs look bad.
