Progress Report
It's been a while since I posted so I thought you might like to know what I've been working on. I've mostly been going through things missing in the main pack so no mod stuff yet. I've remade obsidian, I'm surprised nobody complained about it before. It's now the right colours / not so washed out and the detail is better.

I've also finished the square moon phases, enderdragon egg, enderdragon, and the villagers.

There's still more I want to finish before I release.

@Vattic could you give me the link to the 1.9 Pre 3 update? I'm currently working on the ender crystal thingy and would like to use the old ender portal block texture for the crystal frame.
Or, if you wan't to it yourself, here's the current progress:
http://i.imgur.com/KKmAF.pngI don't think the old ender portal frames would really fit. I could finish this for you if you like? I will if I release before you finish. Nice work so far.

I wanted to post some feedback.. I hope it will be taken as how it's meant.. constructive criticism, and not flames.
I don't like the new grass texture. Actually, I quite like the new grass texture. Wait.. what?
What I mean is, it's very nice looking, but it's so stylized it is no longer, IMO, "faithful".
This is the same problem I had with the changes to smoothstone in the past.
Don't get me wrong.. you are a fantastic artist, and these are lovely textures. It's just that the draw/allure of this texture pack is that it's "faithful" to the originals. And I personally feel that your smooth stone and grass textures are too fancy and stylized, and do not seem like upscaled versions of the originals anymore. Instead I think they would fit nicely into a personalized/stylized custom 32x32 texture set.
Again, it's just my feed back. I have made a backup of your old grass texture for my use, because I prefer it. I already do a bunch of cutting and pasting whenever you make a new version anyhow (because I prefer the HarryDG/Zombuster smooth stone, and I also use your smooth wood test.. and the high contrast grass. I think those look much nicer. But I do love your cobblestone and furnaces/etc).
Constructive criticism is welcome and invited. Often I get little feedback with updates unless I mess something up hehe. I'm going to go through and reply to what you've said in chunks.
The new grass texture is an experiment which most seem to have liked. The problem with up-scaling the original grass is that it's almost just noise applied to a nice green; This means I'm going to have to interpret it and there will always be people who don't like it. I've tried to keep some of the shapes the same and the shades of grey are the same. I'll continue providing alternatives for those that don't.
As for the smooth stone the problem is similar. I had to choose between staying faithful to the shapes or the spirit. I decided to try and stay faithful to the shapes. The HarryDG/Zombuster smooth stone is more faithful to the spirit. I can see advantages in both options but again different people use different ones.
That wood was never supposed to be released but I kept the wrong layers open when saving during an update and a small number of people who use the pack have been using them since. They are one of many tests. It's the same problem again really: Shape of spirit? I've found keeping to the shape leaves it not looking much like wood but I know some want that and I'm not happy with my own attempts at keeping it in the spirit of the 16x16 textures.
I'm going to keep trying new things and keep the alternatives updated as I can. What I really need to know is how many are using the alternative textures. They take time to update and I don't want to be working on something that's now being used. I'll have to find some way of setting up a few polls.

the texture for the redstone pipe in AdditionalPipes rev29 by Zeldo is missing, because it is invisible when i try and craft it
I'll have to look into that. Cheers for flagging it up.

Since sand is updated in pre-release 6, could you try to make it actually 32x32 (Like the new grass), instead of tiled and edited from that?
I can but it will only be as an alternative texture. I don't know how much more sand like I can make it that what's currently in the pack.

Added to
the list. This should be a nice and simple edit and there's some other interesting looking mods on there too.

I notice people are always patching it wrong. Perhaps you should make that stuff with installation a little more noticeable so people stop reviewing it with it incorrectly installed.
Edit: I'm not sure what texture this is, but I noticed it in RC2 so I made a version in faithful. I think it might be the enderegg thing... Anyway, here's this comparison thing.

If you use it, it is somewhere at the enchantment table...
People really should know to patch last but then it was a mistake I've made before. I should rewrite that red text I suppose. Cheers for the enderdragon egg texture but I've already made one.

hey do i have permission to mess with your pack for personal use. ive been looking for the original pack but couldnt find it and i cant archive mine for some reason and yours is as close as i can get.

I don't quite follow your reasons but you can go ahead. If you release with any Faithful32 stuff please give credit and link back to this topic.

Is there a tutorial on how to install the separate mod textures into the faithful pack?
There is a .txt document with each mod support .zip with full instructions. If you find one without please let me know and I'll add one.
Thanks again everyone.
