Latest Update - Jan 14 2012

This update covers two things: Firstly an update for the main pack to support Minecraft v1.1. Sectondly the problems people have been having running BuildCraft, Additional Pipes, and Logistics Pipes whether with the Faithful 32x32 pack or other packs.

So first the update to support Minecraft v1.1. New for this update: Mob eggs and the new language GUI stuff.

Secondly all the BuildCraft problems I've been hearing about. For anybody having problems with invisible, pink, or otherwise messed up textures you'll want to have a look at this patch. I had to use it.

When it comes to BC and the other BC addon mods I'm having a bit of trouble deciding which versions to support. I don't know which versions of MC you are all using. From what I can tell there are often no differences in the textures but I can't be sure so I'll need feedback on what's working or not.

NEW!There is a problem with the GUI panes where the edges get cropped but this is a problem with the mod and not my pack from what I can tell. Two GUI panes are missing but this is because they are generated in real-time and so can't be edited.

That's all I've got done that's worth releasing so far this weekend. I'll go through some of the submissions and do some more before the weekends over. Never seem to have enough time D:.

I can't remember where I got the world from but here are two screens that will hopefully give you an idea of the difference between the default texture pack and the faithful 32x32 pack. Warning large images.

Sorry about the lack of real screens. I've been working on this rather than playing, my only screens show an out of date version of the pack, and tinypic has been removing my pictures without warning. I will try and remedy this. Ideally I'd like to find a nice medieval themed server where I can take a load of shots, know any?

Installation Guide
For a fresh install follow these steps:

1) Download the latest pack from this link:Faithful Pack ZIP.
2) Save to the .minecraft\texturepacks folder.

*Optional, but highly recommended*
-Copy the "saves" Folder on: .minecraft and place it somewhere else.
-Delete contents of .minecraft/bin.
-Run Minecraft.exe and let it download a clean copy of all the files.

3) Download the latest texture patcher from this thread:Texture Patcher by Kahr.
4) Save to Desktop for easy access.
5) Open the Patcher.
6) Open the "Options" tab.
7) Select "Default" for water, lava, fire, and portal in the drop boxes.

-Revise that the setting are like this:


8) Open the "Mods" tab.
9) Click on "Patch". Close the patcher.
10) Run Minecraft. Click the "Mods and Texture Packs" button. Select faithful32pack.zip and you're ready to go.

NOTE: If you are in the need of assistance, read through the last few pages of the thread or try a search, your problem will likely have already been mentioned and solved.

Since no one has commented, I like this texture. Maybe a few more screenshots would be nice.
I like it because it is not like the other texture packs (It's different) Most other texture packs are crazy and don't have the original minecraft feel to it, where as this one still has the minecraft feel, but has a little touches to it.

Awesome pack!

Just looks like i screw something. Water and lava are not animated and fire is just purple and red box saying "FIRE TEX" or something like that.

I have messed around with HD patchers before, but i have restored original minecraft.jar and applied pack here.

Just looks like i screw something. Water and lava are not animated and fire is just purple and red box saying "FIRE TEX" or something like that.

I have messed around with HD patchers before, but i have restored original minecraft.jar and applied pack here.

I'm not completely happy with the wheat and I haven't tested all the items in game but I'm tired of working on it for today and it's so close to being finished that I figure I might as well upload. As a bonus I also have preliminary versions of the particles and the sign texture:

To get mine working I've been patching a clean .jar file then opening it with WinRAR and replacing the textures by hand.

well someone needed to do this. I love having higher res textures, but I don't like having to put up with artists' weird ideas and departures. This is perfect for having higher res, without changing the color scheme of whatever we build from how it looks with default. Don't have any criticisms at the moment, but I really like the idea and the execution seems fine at first glance

I have tried doing this before (manual replacing), but fire texture screwed up.(just pink box with some text in it).

For a fresh install follow these steps:

[*:12ps4ger]Download texture pack RAR ZIP
[*:12ps4ger]Delete contents of .minecraft/bin
[*:12ps4ger]Run Minecraft.exe and let it download a clean copy of all the files
[*:12ps4ger]Download The latest patcher from here
[*:12ps4ger]Patch using these settings:

[*:12ps4ger]Open .minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar with WinRAR
[*:12ps4ger]Open faithful32pack.zip / .rar and select all contained files and folders
[*:12ps4ger]Drag selected files and folders into the opened minecraft.jar
[*:12ps4ger]Close it and it should be ready to go

This looks great. I'm of the opinion that Minecraft looks best with 32x32 textures and this is a great way to keep that original Minecraft look without having to settle with a 16x16 texture.

ahh i was wishing someone would make a higher res version of the original skin! I was hoping for 64x coz thats what i normally use, can anyone tell me, if i am patched for a 64x skin and install this 32xskin without re-patching or anything, will it still show up OK?
