I'm having a problem where my map is currently only pink. Nothing else... :Pig:

We've got lots of documentation in getting this up and running on multiple machines. Can you post more specifics of your issues?

Take a look at the Available Modifications section on our wiki as well to view the most up to date releases of mods for overviewer such as player avatars or weather.

Hey pironic,

I have been having some trouble running Minecraft Overviewer:
I enter overviewer.py in terminal, but I'm not sure where to find my world file.
I tried overviewer.py /home/Home/.minecraft/saves/First Try-/data/map_0.dat    , but this doesn't work.
Can you help me?

I'm running Linux if that's helpful.

(First post here BTW)

Thanks,

Jalexge

Hello!

The world directory you should point to is the one that has a file named level.dat. In your case, you should run

overviewer.py /home/Home/.minecraft/saves/First Try-/ output/

This will render your map into output/, and you can view your map by double-clicking index.html.

If you ever need help in the future, the Overviewer team and a bunch of other helpful folks hang out in #overviewer on freenode.net. You can also read the docs, which have been vastly improved, or you can file an issue at GitHub.

I made my own config file, and used these settings:
these are the locations on my disk I use:
D:\minecraft\Corn <-- Worlddir
D:\webserver\www\minecraft\map <-- output dir (my webserver)

config.py

worlds['Corn'] = "d:/minecraft/Corn"

outputdir = "d:/webserver/www/minecraft/map"

rendermode = "smooth_lighting"

renders["Corn"] = {
		'world': 'Corn',
		'title': 'Corns World',

}
Save this file on the same dir as overviewer.exe

create another file, run.bat
overviewer.exe --config=config.py

start run.bat and wait......

result:

I know this is a REALLY old thread but i found it on a google search, so i wanted to add what worked for me in case anyone else needs this knowledge, and finds it like i did.

the reason i was getting the error "Could not find the file `terrain.png'. Try specifying the 'texturepath' option in your config file. Set it to the directory where I can find terrain.png."  was because i was using a beta version of minecraft and it didn't have a textures folder in the rar!

you can use a beta version, you just have to download the standard current .jar, i got it from the minecraft.net download page, just click 'show all versions" and opened the jar in my %appdata% folder, and added the textures folder from the "current" jar to my beta jar.

once i did that overviewer worked like a gem!

Hello!!

Do someone know  how to add custom biomes (Like the ones added in Biomes o' Plenty) to this excelent map generator? As when I generate the map, it looks great with my current texture pack but the new biomes are not rendered OK.

Regards.

I'm trying to install this as well and find the documents to be a bit lacking as well.  I'm also curious if the overviewer has gotten any mod support, more specifically Tekkit.
