Hi everyone,

Inspiration for this came from a fridge box that was just the right size. It took me the better part of about 3 weeks to put together and paint.

After wearing it to a certain convention a few months ago and copping a bit of damage, the costume sat in the spare room and gathered dust. Now its getting in the way and I have to remove it, which is far more painful than I thought it would be, so I thought taking some photos and showing it to you guys might help out with the grief:

The head was detached from the body so could pivot around.

Posted Image

The feet were wine boxes that were sort of attached by a cardboard hinge so they could swing around while I walked, but even with shin pads on it kind of bruised my legs by the end of the weekend.

Posted Image

Thanks to the dimensions of the box, I could walk through doorways fairly comfortably.

Posted Image

Painting was fun. I screwed up some bits but for the most part I kept as true as I could to the textures for each side.

Posted Image

Sneaking up behind people in the convention and ominously staring at them, especially those dressed as Steve, was priceless. The ironic thing was that more people were hissing at me when I walked past then I had opportunities to hiss at them.

So tell me what you think...

That's awesome.

Wear it for Halloween, perhaps? That'll give it some use.

I would but unfortunately Halloween isn't so big where I'm from.

I thought about selling it but the thing is its made of cardboard, I'm not really sure how long it would last.

Additionally, building this made me realise the hard way that some things can never be permanently solved with duct tape.

I dunno, I guess I'd have some repair work to do if I were to sell.

There are no words.

This is AWESOME.
I'm always happy just 'cause there isn't a reason to be sad.
Don't take this as there is nothing that could cause sadness. I just mean it's pointless to dwell on it. I mean, depression is so boring.

It was the double-layer corrugated cardboard box of a refrigerator cut into 2 sections for the head and the torso and covered in butcher's paper for spray-painting. Each square of paint or 'pixel' was about 75x75mm therefore proportions were just done by drawing a pixel grid according to pictures of creepers. Because fridge companies like to use optimum amounts of materials for things, the dimensions were a bit odd at places so some squares were cut off at points if you look carefully (I think its most obvious in the feet), but the mind of the beholder tends to fill in the gaps.

So give or take a few centimeters here are the measurements in millimeters:

head: 600x600x600 (8x8x8 pixels)
Torso: 300x600x900 (4x8x12 pixels)
Foot: 300x300x450 (4x4x6 pixels)
