As for me, I was against round sun and moon at first, but since I saw the picture I'm not so sure anymore. On one side I like the idea of a square sun and moon because it's original and fits with the blocky theme, but I can't imagine the moon phases Notch wants to implement to look as good when square. And the sun and moon still look very Minecraft-esque in that picture.
Am I the only one who has a problem with moon phases at all? They make no sense! The moon and sun are always 180 degrees apart in the sky -- how can there be phases?!
I mean "hur hur realism in Minecraft", but the sunset is red because of the position of the sky, the stars move across the sky at the same rate as the sun; the whole thing makes a certain degree of sense, and phases makes so little sense it would kinda throw me off.
Though on the other hand, with the position of sun and the moon, the moon would always be in eclipse unless it's actually so much bigger than the minecraft world that you can't see the planet's shadow...
i didnt actually notice the shape change of moon and sun, so whatever. but i kinda like the round more... because as long as its a blocky sort of round its fine. (not EVERYTHING in minecraft is a cube or square [visually anyway])
And I live really close to Austin!
As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, you will soon be. Prepare for death and follow me.
