The Pit

MAY NOT WORK IN 1.1 DUE TO THE LADDERS

A very unique map and puzzle you have never seen before! The whole map is just 1 puzzle, with 1 goal - reach the top. Although this map looks simple, it is actually very difficult. But I can assure you that it is possible to reach the top.


Rules

Spoiler:

The aim of this map is to get as high as possible, given limited resources.
-play on peaceful. So no crafting wool from spiders and maybe teleport up using enderpearls.
-no using the sand duplication by piston glitch. That's cheating (at first I thought it was already fixed)
other than that,
Use any means necessary, legitimately
That means you can break and place blocks.
Tip: use the blocks around you wisely.
(this is a puzzle map, not a parkour map)

Instructions:
1. Download the file above.
2. Unzip it.
3. Place the unzipped folder into .minecraft/saves. (the place it is located depends on the type of computer you are using. For Windows search %appdata%)

126: U fail, seriously. Oops, it IS possible to get to 126 without being able to get to 127. Well done, you got a height I previously thought impossible!

The Pit II

The hardest puzzle ever just got even harder! This time no one will be able to reach the top. MUAHAHAHAHA!!! You are encouraged to play The Pit I first.

Complete this map using any means. That means any difficulty. You probably won't get any mobs either way though.

You can just use the giant tube as a mob grinder to get string and work your way up.

Well theoretically you can, but it would take an extremely long time. Also not many mobs spawn. I doubt anyone would try.

But if you want to eliminate every other possible ways of reaching the top and play the game normally, then just play on peaceful.

Thanks! In version 1.1 there is a way to reach above 127, so the item responsible is removed from the chest in version 1.2 (I wonder if any knew the way )
Here is the solution to the puzzle in 1.2 (about the same as 1.1)

Every block available to you is useful, except for torches. If you really want the full walkthrough click again.

If you really insist...

1. Every block in the chest helps you climb up 1 step, except pistons, ladder, door, trapdoor and the double chest itself which helps you climb 2 steps.
2. Don't destroy the leaves. Shave them later.
3. Don't destroy the snow, dig them up later.
4. Make a workbench, wooden pick, stone pick, furnace (there is a stone in the chest), iron pick, diamond shovel (there is a diamond block not covered in snow), diamond pick, shears, in that order or whatever order suitable.
5. The leaves should be shaved, and you should be able to craft 3 snow blocks. Remember to craft all logs into planks.
6. Use the 6 extra iron ingots to make 16 iron fences (efficient!)
7. Now just make your way up. Remember to use the glass as a stepping stone.
8. Use the sword to get strings from the web and make an extra cloth block.
9. The trickiest part is the part with 2 glass at the same height. Use pistons to change one of their height so you can climb on both.
10. For the half or one and a half blocks, first use the cake, then the slabs and fences, and finally the stair.
11. Now just make your way up.
