This mod adds new food and a new type of furnace block, it's called the oven and you will need to to cook all the new food that this mod adds. Later on i will add more advanced cooking so that you will need spices and other main ingredients to make meals. But for now there only corn, tomatoes, cheese and sandvich.

Could you give a bit more detail on what all is in the mod and how to use it, like how to find certain things, the growing conditions, etc. Other than that it looks pretty promising.

I have one or two suggestions for your oven. Firstly, it would be great if you could add a config.txt file into it so users can add their own recipes to be cooked in the oven. This would be especially well received if at the same time adding a recipe to the oven automatically removed it from the furnace. That way the oven would become an entity in its own right.

The next suggestion if possible would be to give the oven its own oven.png file rather than having it share with the furnace.png.

Cheers........

I was talking about the the part of the oven where you are actually cooking the food. It uses the same png as the furnace furnace with the only change being the name Furnace having been changed to Oven instead. At least it was on my game.

Its no biggie and it may be too hard to give it it's own pic but i thought i'd throw it in there anyway.

Its nice to be innovative with using new fuels but if the oven is going to replace the furnace as being the only way to cook food and we need food to keep our hunger bar at bay, I would be inclined to keep it more realistic and just use traditional fuels otherwise people might not be inclined to want to use it.

Glad to see you're thinking about ways to improve it though.

Keeps the game interesting................

The furnace is gona keep some of it's original food when the mod is done but i'm going to make it so that you can use it so that you only get health from eating cooked food and it gives less hunger bars becuse one oh the reasones i made this mod is becuse i feel minecraft is to easy (even if i playe on hardcore).

Your right. Since the introduction of hunger bars the game has become too easy. I've heavilly modded my food already to compensate, removing raw chicken and pork and still its too easy! I've made all wheat products having to be cooked as well and made the easy mushroom soup into a meal that requires other foods as well and even that has to be cooked. Thats one of the reasons I thought your stove was a good idea.

Even after all that it was still too easy so I've gone out and added more hostile mobs to the game to increase the challenge. Its taken a lot of work but finally its getting close to where i want it.

Cheers........

Not a true modder. I use Zombe's and Cubex2's mod options. Its amazing how much you can do just using those 2 programs to change vanilla recipes and create new stuff as well. One thing with making new food with Cubex though is it can only make it like the old system replacing hearts and not hunger, so you have ot combine both to get some balance.

when I get some more time and incentive I'll look into proper modding , but for now I'm content with what I've already done.

cheers...
