So like a month ago i found a very effective method of mining.

Step 1: dig a 2 block staircase till you get to bedrock
Step 2: Go two blocks above from the place where bedrock generates
Step 3: now dig a tunnel for like 10 blocks
Step 4: Now dig a 3x2 tunnel
Now im sure you did know about this BUT i dont think you would do this ( watch the video )

Heres the video:

With this i found 20 diamonds easily and like 9 gold and alot of other stuff

Comment if it helped :)

Still,
its a very fast way to dig a tunnel and get resources also im not sure if you should dig 2 blocks above bedrock :\ gonna try other heights

I might just try this mining method. I usually just dig and find ores. Thats how I mine.

Branch mining is the technique of exposing the most rock-face with the least amount of mining.  If you dig your main tunnel ahead, then dig into the wall every 3rd block, you save all that strip-mining and you still expose every rock-face (and valuable ore) and are able to gather it.  Top down:

Some people say do a branch every 4th block, leaving three blocks in the middle on the theory that almost all ore spawns are 4 units of ore and that they'll appear on one of the two walls, but I know I've seen 2-diamond spawns vertically aligned that could be missed with this method, so I do every 3rd block.

b...b...but both those layouts are exactly the same?

Besides, I dont mine to get diamonds, diamonds are quite worthless. I mine to get stone which is the basis for my city.

Well. The video was useful. However, making huge rooms like that gives a good chance of slimes, even in light. If you are thinking of making it, plaster the walls with torches. And try to keep big area confined.

Branch mining is the way to go, just above lava level, or you'll dig straight into a lava pool. Also, I think the quickest way to find resources to just explore caves and ravines. Dangerous, but they are essentially mines that are already dug for you. All that exposed surface area makes it likely to find veins of ore ready for the picking. Diamonds are probably usually too deep for ravines, though, but for the rest, it's the best way if you're careful.

This is 100% the MOST effective way to mine. At any level 16-20 you start with a 4x4x2 room. From that room you dig a tunnel off one of the sides. After you go 3 blocks that way, mine the 2 top blocks to the left and place a torch. Then mine the direction opposite of where you placed the torch.

Go 6 blocks that way, and then mine the 2 top blocks to the left, place a torch, then mine the opposite direction.

After 9 more blocks, do the same thing. Top 2 blocks to the left, place the torch, and mine in the opposite direction.

After 12 more blocks, do it one more time. The top 2 blocks on the left, then mine to the direction opposite.

From then on, you just mine until you see the small tunnel with the torch, mine 3 more blocks in that direction, and do the torch thing again. It is the most efficient and once you get going on it it requires no thought at all.

OPs method is incredibly inefficient...
If you are thinking long term go to layer 10 make branch mine and another one at 14
