The Story!

"Welcome to Banoi. A tropical island near Papua New Guinea. You have been invited here by the Royal Palms hotel to open a new section of the hotel. This is because your the big in the news at the moment. This is because you saved a child from a burning building! Everyone knows your name. Well anyway Banoi is on the horizon of your yacht sailing in. You stand on the front of the yacht looking at its beauty. The ship seems to be losing speed however. You dash to the Captains quarters to find out why. When you arrive you are shocked to see blood on the floor and the captain laying dead in the centre of the room, with a zombie looming over him! You lock the door and run to tell the your family however there are more zombies on deck! Killing everyone! You decide its best to jump overboard. You run and leap overboard!

You wake up on the pier of the island where your yacht would have dropped you off for a tour. You decide to turn and check out the wreckage and maybe find some clues! "

It's a good map. Starts out good and the quests are all good. BUT
A few quests were really easy to do since it was day and no monster spawned from the spawners.
But for the rest it was challening. Notes and redstone tricks were all good. Good buildings

But there a few things that I don't really like

1st chapter sidequest 2.
Went to the boat. Nothing spawned because it was morning. Obtained loot and iron sword.

I think the iron sword should be a stone sword. Because later you get a lot of stone swords, there should be a sidequest that gives you an iron sword.

End note missing?

2nd chapter sidequest 2

Dove in the water. Saw the mobs down there. Stayed up and easily avoided all of them..
Then later you had to go to that glass walkway undewater. But a glass was broken and really annoying to get through the stream. Maybe place a clay block in the way so it will be easier to pass the place?

For the rest it's all a great map.

But do you return to the 1st stronghold?
There should be a stronghold later where there are sidequests you need to do before you can go on


Oh and you get a 9/10 ^^

well lets begin,i guess ill start with the story, i like the fact that you found a way to fit creepers into the story,ive seen only a few maps like this that fit the creepers in, that i like, but there was a few times i got lost,after you leave to go get the parts for the boats,in which i had to cheat to get past,after i got into the first town and saw the reception building and sa the pistons not working,thinking it was marely faulty redstone i broke though,realizing that i couldnt see the signs from there i turned and saw that was a sign stateing that the doors were broken,after reading that i quicking fixed it, you may want to move the sign to where it is more visiable,i was had quite alot of fun carving my way though hordes of zombies and skeles,spiders and what have you,there also is one part as you are walkig up the lighthouse where the redstone was exposed,if im correct that is a big no-no in map making and you my want to find a way to cover it up, i would like to continue to play this once its finished

Anyway the proper review

This is a zombie based map and instead of usually being on a city , you mad it on an island which is great as people will eventually dislike city survivals all over the place (Because I am now)

Now lets get onto the unique areas. There are good side quests which I tried to do as many as possible. Its good to have this quests even though sometimes the rewards are meaningless. It adds more feeling to the story to get players more hooked onto this.

Some of the areas that are a bit to tough is the 2nd side quest of the 1st Chapter. The boat had just too many mob-spawners so it was impossible to blow up the whole ship

Still the empty houses around the area add lots of feel into the zombie infested city. This is a very fun map. Recommended for tough players as this is really not easy.

Now for your scoring I give you a
9/10 Awesome map. A few bugs fixing and its on the roll

I would love to see this map finished and play it soon.(its in 0.41 so not finished right?)

Opening Thought:
If there are 2 things that I think I may have suggested during this roamp that I call reviewing, that I have a soft place in my heart for Adventure maps, and after 5 maps straight reviewed of puzzles it is nice to return to the land of the adventure map, does tht mean my usual thorouh review style won't be in full force? Of course not, but if you want to know why I'm about to be so nice, it's becase this map does something else that I really enjoy... it does something new.

Visual:
If you've played Dead Island then you are no doubt expecting that this map will be covered in wooden huts and the ocassional stone structure, well you would find that your expectations would be twisted around until they are back on the right track. However where as I may be expected to complain on the over-use of wood, here it works as the creator tries to deliver a coherent theme, but also attempts to deliver buildings with different designs to break up the monotemy. If I had to select my favourite building it would be the stronghold, despite it esentially being a big wall with glass it provides a nice difference to the wood huts.

Challenge:
Hard, there are a ton of Zombies and other mobs covering the map even on easy you will be forced to run more often then not. Which is a good thing, like the game it is based off you can take one or two mobs on at once, but once you get rushed its time to run and cry in a corner. One thing is that the challenge does rely far too much on night time and if you turn up at one during the day (such a the exploding freighter) then it is a cake work. Possibly making them more indoor focused would fix this.

Length:
This is a map you will probably come back to over a number of days. Normally I sit down and can play through maps in a single sitting, but this one (much like a normal game) does tend to wear on you until you want to take a break. Whether that is a bad thing or not I cannot be sure. The map is still fun, jst wearing.

Story:
Again I'm sort of torn on how to rate this, basically the story is similar to the dead island one, with you heading around a fun sandy island whilst fighting the undead unti you get to a quest hub and then you run about doing jobs for survivors. All told the story isn't very compelling and the quest are all just a version of run to area A, fight the undead and then run back to gauntless survivor B. But again I still enjoyed it, this map was fun, if not the most compelling it is fun. But just based off the story, and the over abundence of notes I can't really rate it that highly.

Things that need Improvement:
- General Story set-up
- Challenge Sections during the Day

Things that need No-Improvement:
- Visual set points
- The feeling of Fun

Final Thoughts:
As I said in the opening I said a lot of nice things would be said, and for the most part thats been true, but there have been a number of gripes. So how do I maintint thia is a really good map? Well because it's fun and despite its issues you'll still want to push through and finish it. So I reccomend a play, however I will admit that this map is not yet finished, so keep an eye on it because the issues may be addressed.

Dead Island Craft - 10

This map was absolutely fun and amazing. there was never a boring or dull moment in that map. what i really loved about this map is that there was chapters and side quests inside of the map itself. The map really made me feel like i was playing Dead Island. this map had a very good distinction between side and main quests with the different colored blocks. and also the side quests are actually worth doing. What is also good about this map is that it is a true challenge. The Hardcore minecraft players will love this. I finished this map in about 3-4 hours and i gave this map a 10 and here is why

Storyline - 10 absolutely brilliant on how Themightyzombie made this map with all of the chapters, side quests, villages, and use of the mob spawners. loved it and like i said i was never bored

Uniqueness - 9 very unique! i never even thought to see dead island in minecraft. also the side quests were very original i especially loved blowing the ship up with

Challenge - 10 absolutely difficult, but not to difficult to make you rage quit. =]

Enjoyment - 10 like i have said before never a dull moment. everything flowed so no confusion, everything was well organized, and i loved killing hordes of zombies,creepers,skeletons,spiders, etc. I highly recommend this map!!!

1.The reception door is NOT glitched it is broken! Find another way in!
2. Conserve your weapons!
3. If you can run away!
4. Each chapter is opened by a lever at the end of the story quest! So make sure you flip the switches!
5. Search around A LOT!
6. Getting owned? Change the difficulty

We have discussed a Texture pack and have decided to create our own, but we are complete novice's at the Texture pack stuff and therefore it will take us a long time to complete, it will possibly release with Chapter 5/6, depending on how fast the chapters are released. If you have any experience in creating Texture Pack's please message me with tips, so that I can make it as good as it can be, so that it doesn't bring the quality of the gameplay down.

I have played this map and i must say, good job on making it, it looks like there is an awful lot of work in there. Although, less zombies would be nice, because i cant even win it on peaceful. Or maybe I am just a noob. Also, you can make it look more pretty with palm trees, (Maybe in texture pack?) instead of dead saplings in the desert. I won't rate yet, for it's not finished. Anyway, keep going!

Ill give it a 3 and a half due to its creativity and lack of dead island maps and It was alright at first but SO MANY story flaws and next time MAKE IT AN ACTUAL ISLAND FOR THE FULL EFFECT, a lot of flaws, work on it!

Thanks for feedback and i know its not an island, i didnt want to be as badly spaced as when this map is fully finished it will be very long and very big. Could you please point out the story flaws?

I was so excited when I read the quest objective, My name is Gareth! I didn't know anybody knew that was a name. Also add more swords its kinda hard with only 1 wooden sword cuz it breaks after only a few zombies.
