This series will be set on hold for the time being. I'll get back to it when I'm less busy with IRL stuff and feel like doing so.
You can still play all of the maps, but you have to downgrade your .jar file to the proper version which is said at the respective Map Section. This can be done with mods such as MCNostalgia.
Inspired by all the other CTM maps out there, XeroThomas presents a map series of his own...

Hey there, and welcome to my CTM map series, Corrupt Lands! Just like all the other CTM maps out there, these maps are designed to kill you over and over again, in the most ridiculous ways. Imagine things like lava falling on your head because of pushing a single button, or some mob spawners placed in unaccessible places. Oh, and you're not allowed to play on peaceful, but I think that's pretty obvious now.
I also tried to give this series something like a story. The story of each map can be found in a .txt file included in the .zip of the map you downloaded. The story is your standard good guy-evil guy story, so bear with me.
Anyway, the main goal, like any other CTM, is to find and complete a monument, which in this series is called the 'Altar of Accomplishment'. To complete this monument, you have to find colored pieces of wool spread across the map. The wools can be found in so-called Chest Chambers, which have a chest inside of them with 27 pieces of one colored wool. Once you get all of the pieces of wool and put them in their designated spots on the monument, you complete the map. Sounds easy, right? Well...

All maps are made with Vechs' CTM Toolkit, which you can find on his Super Hostile topic. You can find his topic here.
If you're talking about something that could spoil someone else's playthrough, be sure to use spoilers. You don't want to ruin someone else's gaming experience, right? If you don't know how to use spoilers, take a look at this little piece of code:
[spoiler] Between the two spoiler tags, you can write anything you want to. [/spoiler]
Banners, ho! All of these banners have been made by RicksterCraft/CoconutSalesEO. Feel free to use the banner yourself: just copy the line of code beneath the banner and put it in your signature. Every element has its own banner!

I would appreciate it very much if you could watch the 5 second Adf.ly ads before downloading my maps. However, if you really want to skip them, or even need to, I understand. Just copy and paste the MediaFire link in your URL, so you can download it normally. Also, if you really like my maps and would like to donate, feel free to do so. Click the 'Donate' button below and donate any amount of money that you would like to. Any donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated.

Now, here are the things you're here for: the maps!
CORRUPT LANDS 0
PROLOGUE
Difficulty: Practice
Style: Dungeoneering
Current Version: v1.0
Optimal .jar Version: 1.1
SSP Download: http://adf.ly/4PRde
SMP Download: http://adf.ly/4PRfh
The 'real' first map in the series. This map is designed to learn you some basic survival tips and strategies in order to beat the rest of the maps. It also tells you about the story after the protagonist got captured, and how he got out of Xaos' castle.
This is a great map to start this adventure with, and I recommend new players to this series or CTM's in general to begin with this one.

THE SWAMP OF SORROW
Difficulty: Normal
Style: Linear-Branching/Dungeoneering
Current Version: v1.2
Optimal .jar Version: 1.1
SSP Download: http://adf.ly/45ZgE
SMP Download: http://adf.ly/45Zif
The first custom map I ever made and the first map of the series. This map consists of five different areas, each one consisting of multiple dungeons. Don't think I'm going easy on you just because it's the first map, though.
...And no, I'm not referring to WoW with the name!

CORRUPT LANDS 2
FLOATING MEMORIES
Difficulty: Normal
Style: Linear-Branching
Current Version: v1.1
Optimal .jar Version: 1.2.5
SSP Download: http://adf.ly/6MgI2
SMP Download: http://adf.ly/6MgCd
The second map of the series. This one takes place high up in the sky, and consists of many different regions and climates which you can explore.
Think it's too easy? Here's a hardcore rule: if you die by falling into the void, it's game over. Have fun!

CORRUPT LANDS 3
DEADLY DREAM
Difficulty: Easy
Style: Open-World
Current Version: v1.0
Optimal .jar Version: 1.1
SSP Download: http://adf.ly/5Z8JO
SMP Download: http://adf.ly/5Z8KY
Did you ever have a dream in which you dreamed that you died? Well, this map kind of resembles that 'nightmare'. The only difference is, you'll die a lot more in this dream. Fun, huh?
All the dreams and nightmares you've had in your whole life: I'll make all of them come true. You'll cry yourself to sleep when you're done with this one. Pun intended.

CORRUPT LANDS - WOOL BATTLE 1
THE FIRST STEP
Difficulty: Easy
Style: Multiplayer/Linear
Current Version: v1.1
Optimal .jar Version: 1.1

My first shot at a RFW Multiplayer map, which I call 'Wool Battle'. Two teams fight against each other in a race for three colored pieces of wool. Using all kinds of strategies and dirty moves, you must defeat and humiliate the other team completely!
Although it was designed for Multiplayer, you could also play it in Single Player as a mini CTM map if you're forever alone.

Special Thanks
Here, I would like to thank some people that helped/inspired me with this map series.
Vechs - The father of the CTM genre and provider of the CTM Toolkit. Without him, I wouldn't be making these maps. An absolutely amazing map maker, and in a way, my role model.
All other CTM map makers - I was inspired by all those CTM's out there, so not only by Vechs, but all the other guys that made these maps.
Opiaz - One of my friends and a redstone genius. He made almost all of the traps in my maps.
All Test Players - There are too many to name, but I'd like to thank all of them for their advice and help.
RicksterCraft AKA Coconutsales - He made some awesome banners for the series, which you can put in your own signature as well.
Eshlie - He helped me out with the v1.2 version of the Swamp of Sorrow. He also has made a CTM map of his own, Unconquerable!
All LP'ers and Livestreamers - Their Let's Plays are partially the reason this series is going so well. Check them out at the LP Section.
You - Of course, without players, this series wouldn't have grown. Thank you for playing!
Last Words
At last, the end of the OP is near! I hope you had fun reading this wall of text.
Here is some legal stuff about my maps (much the same like Vechs'). Too long; didn't read? The short version is, feel free to make LP's of my maps, watching people play my maps helps me make better maps; do not claim my work as your own; and please don't upload my work to other websites.
I like comments, feedback and reviews. So, if you have anything to say about this series, feel free to post a comment or send me a message about what you think of it. I read every PM, and try to answer all of them as well.
Looking for other maps that are like this? Or are you just looking for other CTM maps in general? Check out Z_bill's CTM Central. He has made a huge collection of every CTM map out there. You can check his thread out by clicking on this banner:

And that's about it. I hope you like all of my creations, and I hope you have a lot of fun playing this series!
