------------------------------------------------------

Hello everybody,

"Hints For Recipes" is a mod that basically gives you hints every time you can create, using the stuff inside your (large) chest, a NEW RECIPE (new=NEVER crafted before!! Not even once!), in the form of a green button plus the name of the craftable item (lightly encoded =). It doesn't tell you the ingredients, you have to find those on your own (that's the fun)! Once you craft it the first time, you won't have more hints about that recipe/item!

Cool thing is that this mod works on every recipe in the game, including the recipes you get from other mods! So by using this mod you'll have fun finding those recipes on your own :)

New item from 1.5: "Known recipe book". Two types of hints from 1.6: red and green:
  • Red hints are for recipes/items you could potentially create whith your present knowledge (=blocks/recipes/items discovered).
  • Green hints are for recipes/items you can create right know, by using only what's inside your chest
  • Q:Why two types? A: sometimes you have lots of items scattered among many chests, in this case the red ones are very helpful!

Wouldn't it just be easier to use the recipe book from Risugami?

Everybody gets a bit bored sometimes, click the link to not be bored for a few hours.

Recipe book from risugami spoilers you!! This mod doesn't ;) only tells you if a new craftable can be made (!) but absolutely does not tell you the ingredients!

About why: have you ever heard of or played Doodle God (flash) game? I got the inspiration from it: it's more fun figuring out new recipes on my/your own instead of reading it on the wiki :P In fact i made this mostly for myself :D

Try it out, and let me know =)

Awesome idea. It makes finding the recipes so much more rewarding. I like it.

I think he is trying to make a mod that requires work to find the recipes instead of getting a book with all of them in it.
so less cheap maybe.

I like the idea of hints, though I wonder how it works exactly. The pictures alone don't help people understand it better, but nonetheless a decent mod. Good job.

Forgot to say that the mod also checks stacksizes, so for example for a Wood Doors you need exactly 6 or more planks inside the chest to have the hint displayed (and only if you havent created it already, 'course)
