you would need something similar.. (by similar i mean a domain name) joebobminecraft.com for example would work.. register that domain name then go to a dns redirect service like Dyndns.com and have the dns set to where it would forward to your dynamic ip address(aka your home or where ever) that way when someone wants to play on your server all they have to do is type in joebobminecraft.com and badabing they are on your server...
so tldr dyndns.com domain registration and dynamic redirect.

most routers have a dyndns updater program built in... also i believe they have a program that will update your ip address with them on a regular basis..
so 1 go in your router see if you have the dyndns update software.. if not get dyndns' program
2. port forward the minecraft port in your router... its port 25565 do both udp and tcp forward that port to the ip address of the computer that has the minecraft server software running on it..(that software can be found here - http://minecraft.net/download.jsp)
3. double click .exe and enjoy

When you set up your host, you should see your host name at https://www.dyndns.c...services/hosts/.
Click on your host name.
You will then see a link that says "Your computer's current IP address is x.x.x.x".
Click that link.
That will update the IP Address box, and you can then save changes on the page.
At that point, anyone who types your host name in to MineCraft will get the IP address you specified.
The rest is up to you: forwarding ports on your router and setting up a computer to run 24/7 winh MC server.

So after registering your info at Dyndns.com with a domain, and after port fowarding, someone will be able to connect to my server via the Dyndns details?

You then go to the hosts records and create a subdomain.
Subdomain means the letters before the first period.
Mc is the subdomain.
Then in the address portion, put your server ip.
