Thank You!!!
I definitely like the new load from file window in the Windows version.
I still don't understand why I have to specify the level.dat file.
What other file would I be opening with Amidst?
would just like to say love the app, use it anytime im looking at making a new world because there are several things I look for in the overworld when locating a seed.
I do have a what I would say might be a simple or easy request to add to the program. my request is an input box with up down controls, this would basically be a number seed input so you can either enter in a specific number without going into a menu or be able to cycle through seeds. could also make it allow for entering text and then converting it to a number after hitting enter and/or have a checkbox to enable or disable the input box function.
there is another program that does something similar to this however it does not show structures on its map and each time you open that you have to link it to the minecraft jar (which it doesn't remember the last location used).
thanks for your time and I hope you consider adding this function to your program.
ps. my roommate would also like it if you could add mouse over biome info on the pie chart.

Yes, even a simple random seed function would great. Currently I use an AHK script to randomize seeds for me so I can quickly search for interesting worlds.
It doesnt work with large biomes, is this possible?
It isn't working in the newest version of Amidst, sadly, and seems to just go with the normal/default setting.
If you really need it though, the 'large biomes' option does work in the previous version of Amidst (2.0.44) but you need your minecraft.jar to be version 1.5.1 for it to work.
How do you install this? Every time I try and run it, it just says it tried to run in jar mode but here was no -noverify. How do I fix this?
Do you have a modded Minecraft jar file? This is most common cause of this. Revert to the standard jar file, you should then just be able to run AMIDST. But, be aware, if you have any mods that change biomes or terrain generation, your AMIDST map will most likely be different from what you get in game with mods installed. AMIDST is for vanilla only.

How do I run this on FTB then? Minecraft.jar has to be modded in order for it to run.

Life is a Learning Curve.... Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
tried my seed and the direct file. My house is in extreme hills, but it says everyone on the server is in an ocean. Also, the stronghold coords are wrong. my seed id -4087905797712663888. I think the program messed it up
i cant right click to move the player like i used to, in fact, right click does nothing at all now. Anybody know how to fix?
This seems to be a bug in the newer version of AMIDST (v2.1). I've never used this feature myself so I can't comment on the functionality in the previous version (v2.0.44). If it existed in the previous version, you could try using it instead if really need this functionality. Otherwise I'd recommended grabbing a NBT file editor and simply changing the coordinates in the .dat files.

Your world itself may have been generated with Large Biomes, which makes all biomes much larger and essentially scales your world by a factor of 10. The newer version of AMIDST (v2.1) has a bug with showing maps that use Large Biomes generation, and instead shows them with Default generation. This would explain why everything is offset. If this is the case you might try using the previous version of AMIDST (v2.0.44), otherwise I'm not sure.
hi, i love your program and i used it all the time but in my new world (large biomes) it dosnt work, i know is a bug and i really want to use to find a mushroom island so, you said that we can downgrade to the older version (2.0.44) and there is my question, how can i get that version becouse i really want it to used ;), or when are you going to update this, becouse a lot of peolpe use this?
PD: Love u and your program
tried this out and it does not work for me. i loaded an existing save and the only thing the program got correct was player positions. every biome was wrong and i checked 10-15 locations of things around the map and not 1 was correct. :/

Yeah, that's about the only way to do it. I think in most FTB packs, it's the extra biomes mod that handles the terrain generation. Maybe they have a biome mapper or predictor, I've never really looked into it too much.
What biome are you looking for?

Most people have more than one world...
I have the same problem.

Can you please try and make this work with modded minecraft.jar files? I play FTB and need to find a particular biome.
