The program wont open after i press Okay it doesnt do anything so yea :/ MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it says (default) above the "OK" button and you don't have an MC 1.6.4 profile on your machine that is exactly what will happen.
Did you read the Notice in red in the OP of this topic?

Won't open. It comes up with the profile selection box, but when I click "Done", it just freezes and won't do anything. (I'm running windows 7.) Looks great though!
The debug version freezes too.
Same with the Linux version. I made a bat file to launch the linux version and it works exactly like the debug version.
Won't work for me. When I open the program (exe version on windows 7), the profile selection box opens but when I click "Done", it freezes. Looks like a cool program though! Nice work!
Actually, I'm having the same problems with the .exe files ever since the Windows 7 update on Nov. 12.
However, the Amidst.jar works fine.
Also, make sure that you have admin. privileges on your machine or Amidst won't work. It needs to be able to write to the hard drive.
EDIT: I just moved the two .exe files to a temp folder and re-downloaded both files from bitbucket.
I have NO idea why, but they now BOTH work.
So, now I have all three PC versions of Amidst working on my Windows 7 machine. Again.
Just color me very confused.

When i downloaded Amidst, I opened it but my computer says that it is damaged and i should throw it in the trash do I did then i tried downloading it again and it continues to tell me that. Maybe for mac the file is messed up. So i you are able to check it that would be great. I only have a mac and thats all I use.

Ugh. Bitbucket is acting all weird with the uploading. I figured I'd try out the whole "color profile" thing since everyone seemed to want it. However, I don't want to do an official release until I can handle all these bug reports (or at least some of them). If anyone would like to, though, they're more than welcome to try out this test build. To access biome color profiles follow these steps:
1.) Create a folder named "biome" right next to AMIDST. 2.) Launch AMIDST (if it was already opened, close it and reload it) 3.) There should now be a default.json file in the biome folder. 4.) Copy or modify this file. AMIDST will currently attempt to load all files in this folder, so don't drop anything that's not a json in there. (As I said, it's a fast test build) 5.) Relaunch AMIDST after any changes to json files to access them in AMIDST. (All biome profiles are loaded once at launch)
Opening default.json should give you a very good idea how to set biome colors. (Don't forget to change the name!)
I just verified that Amidst v 3.4 works with MC snapshot 13w47c which is a post- MC1.7.2 snapshot release.

Yep, works fine with the latest snapshot, biome color profile works fine as well. A little tedious to edit, but makes finding a specific biome much easier. If they exist, that is. Still can't find a frozen ocean.

Whenever I load it up and the "Temporary profile selector" appears. I chose my 1.7.2 Profile and click "Okay." Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just bugging out? It loads up the 1.6.4 Profiles I have, but not any of my 1.7.2 profiles. May I also suggest that you add a dungeon (mob spawner) finder?
I can get it to work! I get this same error message with all my non-1.6.4 profiles which all work with the launcher. This includes a working 1.7.2 profile, the Latest profile and a 1.6.2 profile.

You probably have modded your Minecraft somehow or have a bunch of old files in your libraries folder.
A quick to check is to rename your libraries folder (which is in your .minecraft folder).
Then start your Minecraft launcher, select a profile, hit "play", and the launcher will re-download the libraries that are needed for that profile.
You may have to do this for each profile that you use, I'm not sure.

I was just making all the biome colors black except the few I want to look for, so it's not so much a matter of looking up the RGB of the colors, but typing those into the file as needed. Do you have an automated way to generate the file?

Well, you caused me to download the 3.5 test build so I could see what the .json color file looks like.
Short answer:
No, I don't.
I would have to edit it value by value.
I would, however, use Notepad++ as the text editor.
If I were a competent Java programmer I would write a program to read in that file, produce a easily editable table, and then write out a new .json file.

Yes, I was editing in Notepad++, and since it's just a long list of names and RGB values, it is a bit of a hassle to edit. Now that I have a file that essentially makes all the biomes black, it's not much issue to find the one I want and change it's color to something else to make it easy to find.
i need to figure out how to use, wut am i supposed 2 use for the Y coord?
I presume you mean the Y coordinate of certain objects such as villages or strongholds. AMIDST doesn't report those. You have to find them on your own. Villages and temples are easy since they are on the surface, but for a stronghold, you need to go to the coordinates that AMIDST reports and dig down until you find it.
