New version works fine for me, and I have a heavily modified 1.4.5 jar, forge, optifine, a few other mods. AMIDST opens fine (windows exe version) and I can pick any world save, gives me the correct biome info and positions for that world (as much as I've checked). The only problem is on my really old world, that I've had around since alpha days, the seed is listed as 0 and the player position doesn't seem to show. Of course the biome info is wrong on that, but that's to be expected. My player might not be showing because I might have left that world while in the nether, not sure.
OK, this is weird, now that I've closed it and try to run it again, I get the jar noverify error. Grabbing the jar and using the command line doesn't work either. Strange. The only thing that's different is that the first time I ran the exe, windows popped up the dialog about running an unknown program and I told it not to ask that again. AMIDST 2.0.40 still runs fine though.
Just grabbed a new copy and the security warning came up (publisher could not be verified) and I didn't uncheck the box but it still doesn't work, noverify error.
Hello, is anyone using AMIDST on OS X? The program launches in MOF.MOF but I can't seem to do anything form there on. Only zoom the map. I cant click-drag the map. No villages appear. I can't select any object. Right clicking does not work. I just get the map as it loaded at startup and can only zoom in - out. If I zoom out too much it crashes.
OS X 10.8.2 java build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909 AMIDST v2.0.41 Minecraft 1.4.5
I can open Amidst fine, it shows the blank screen, but when I go to 'New map from file' I can click on open for the level.dat but it doesn't open in Amidst. All it is is blank like normal. Help please?
Can you please put the file in a zip because of other programs my computer will not download .exe for security reasons so can you please zip it so I can download.

If you look on the first page of this thread, you will see that the last two downloadable AMIDST files are already in .zip format. However, keep in mind that if you have a modded jar, you will need to apply the workaround on page 100 to get AMIDST to work.

This mod has been a big help to me, and I've only used it for 2 days. I can finally explore a fortress and change some things on my main save..Thanks so much Skidoodle
why does everyone call this a mod? it does not change minecraft in any way. it's a standalone program that actually requires a clean minecraft.jar. not a mod. also, whenever I try to load from file, it always reverts to seed 0. there's no way to see what's in my world unless I do it manually.

Hm, maybe there was a change in formatting since I last checked. I'll look into it.
The newest one for me is work fine with pure 1.4.5, but after I installed several mods, the "java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar" problem came out. I think I should check which mod affect Amidst.
Okay I tried open Amidst with pure 1.4.5 minecraft.jar again, without any mod, and it works fine.
After I install:
- (only) Modloader 1.4.5 - I still can open Amidst, but can't open a map with it.
- (only) Audio Mod 1.4.5 - same as Modloader.
- (only) minecraftforge-universal-1.4.5-6.4.0.396 - the "AMIDST ran in JAR mode without -noverify! Use: java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar" message.
hmmmm yep I tried this 3 mods at this moment and made a report to here.

And may I ask HOW you are installing the MOD's ??
Are you placing the class files directly into minecraft.jar (deleting the meta_inf file) or using a alternative launcher like 'magic' ??
IF you are inserting the code into minecraft.jar - may I point you towards the very first FAQ on first post (Yeah I know it's the one I posted as a suggestion a while back - but it must be relevant otherwise OP wouldn't include it )
Q: When I run AMIDST & then either open my level.dat or enter a seed - nothing happens A: Have you got a modded minecraft.jar ?? - Amidst won't work with those.... full stop!! You need a clean version, so backup your minecraft.jar & do a force update using the default launcher to get a clean version
I can only assume Forge does something slightly differently to the minecraft.jar coding & that's why you get the 'Java -noverify' message

Strange thing is, when I tried it, I had Forge and a bunch of other mods installed, and it worked the first time I ran it, but any time after that, it didn't work, I get the no verify error, which seems strange. Wonder what happened the second time around? Thing is, I have a plain 1.4.5 jar archived, but AMIDST won't look for a jar unless it can't find one in the minecraft default folder. It would be nice if it remembered what jar to use no matter what's in the default folder.

Oh I install mods with the classical way which open minecraft.jar with winrar and drag the mod's files into it.
Maybe the problem is it can't use with modded minecraft.jar, just because Amidst works fine with modded jar while 1.2.5 so I told this problem here.
I don't know minecraft's coding and this might be the only way I can help you at this moment, sorry about that.
I will try think more way to give you a help.
i cannot for the life of me find a nether stronghold with this, i have checked 10 netherhold locations so far and found nothing, am i missing something? do lava lakes have spawning priority over nether strongholds or something? or is it like villages in creative mode where i simply keep looking until i get lucky? should i be using amidst at all for netherhold searching?
I've never checked the stronghold locations with AMIDST, but others have posted that you need to convert the coordinates AMIDST gives you to nether coordinates. That means either dividing by 8 or multiplying by 8, I forget which. Probably multiplying by 8 I think.

I think This Post may help a little
Use:jave -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar
I don't know what this means or what to do to fix it, Please Please help!!
Me too, but it's work if I open it with the original clean untouched minecraft.jar.
