I think that most of the seeds should stay the same from 1.8x-1.9  Only differences would be in tiny bits of the world gen

1.8.1, it MIGHT work with 1.9pre+

Also try out: shipwrek or shipwreck. You spawn on a small island whith one tree and its verry much ocean around. VERRY MUCH!

This is a nice seed where you spawn on a small island like in KnightOfVillage, but theres a single tree and even a large cave on it! In the cave theres an abandoned mine, some chests and a spider spawner! I think its quite awesome
