Lux Perpetua is a solid map. By far the highlight of this map is the architecture. Amazing structures, towns and villages were crafted to near perfection, with great attention to detail. Even the simple things looked like they went through careful planning to build. But architecture is only a part of making a good adventure map, there are still many other categories.
The creator went big with this map, making it a very long to play through. In some ways this was good, I enjoyed finding new places, and completing some of the minor side quests on the side. In some ways though, it seemed a bit unrealistic, almost as if he made a bunch of huge structures and tried to connect them with a story. After leaving the first town, I got a bit lost at what I was supposed to be doing in regards to the story. I found the map to be less straight forward after leaving Skyden. I would suggest that the creator add something to help direct the player.
When you combine being a bit confused with the story, and long routes in between towns and epic structures, it leads to having some moments of being unmotivated to continue the map. This may not be the case for everyone, some people may have had better luck figuring out the story, and where to go. Other than that this map really does have a lot to offer, and helps retain attention with some humorous moments and fun quests. The creator also did a good job with using many of the new features from the 1.8 update. Vines on the houses in Skyden really helped make the town visually appealing.
Overall, this map is really good. It makes good use of 1.8 and has outstanding architecture. I would recommend this map to anyone looking for a solid adventure map.
Added few new images that show the new shopping possibilities aswell as a new village.
Btw I am starting to think about getting some testers to test a few basic riddles, mazes and the general design of the map (as is). If you're interested, please post here.
Also, because of the sheer WIN of this map (based on the screens), you get a .
Is it just me or does the bridge in the 2nd screen look similar to the ruined one in that one Fallout-style map, "Out of TIme," or something like that that the Yogscast played through?
We did not invent the Algorithm. The Algorithm consistently finds Jesus. The Algorithm killed Jeeves. The Algorithm is banned in China. The Algorithm is from Jersey. The Algorithm constantly finds Jesus. This is not the Algorithm. This is Close.

First of all thanks a lot for the compliment, those posts make me spend all those hours on building this map <3
If there should be any similarities to other maps then its purely by accident. Every single piece of this map was created just by building it and taking a look at how it looks like afterwards, nothing was planned or taken from another map.
Extremely beautiful! You really do have a vision here! I'm seeing certain building designs here that we use in our own map haha xD But that underground cavern... Wow!

Could you maybe post some images of those building designs of which you think they are the same?
I dont really want to be told afterwards that I copied something from another map :x

Oh don't worry, its the same idea, but built quite differently. It's the idea of having a huge wall with a grassy area and trees planted in the centre. But our's is burning, rubbled and dead :wink.gif:

In the next few days I'll be in need of a native british english speaking person, probably somebody who knows how to speak ye olde language of the british :biggrin.gif: Cause I kinda want my notes to sound like something from a real medieval adventure.
If anyone would feels like he'd have fun doing this then please contact me by pm or post here in this thread.
First of all I'm still in the need of a native british english speaking person to translate/correct some text for me.
Currently I'm trying to add as much of 1.8 as possible so playing the map wont feel boring. Theres a lot to do only because of sprinting for example, some jumping parts have to be redone since they just gotten incredibly easy with the 4 block jumping ability.
Also I've tried to add some rivers and ravines, here's an example.
Plays best with Scuttles LB RPG Realism Pack
