Here is a pic of all the blocks I have done so far in it.
Enjoy!

EDIT: Does anyone know how I can change the fog colour? for some reason once I started using a HD texture template my fog turned purple. Does anyone know what part of the texture image is designated fog area?
lol ok, I did say I hadn't done them yet I'm not taking credit for your great template i'm using.
Yours was the first HD texture image I could find to build on top of so I grabbed it and ran! =P
on another note here is an image of my new chest textures, it probably took the longest so far but I'm happy with it atm.
I really like where you're going with this! Very nice and high key. Looks like it wants to be used in an Indiana Jones adventure! The chests are really nice and I particularly like the iron work on the windows and iron doors. I always prefer items that look believably craft-able in the MC world.
Not sure about the trees. Have you looked at Cypress?
I wasn't being snarky at all earlier. Anything I share here is open for anyone to re-use however they want. I'm glad someone found something helpful!
Release it now, please.
Please please please please please please please?
Also, I suggest you change the wood into a "dead tree" wood as well as just one block of larger planks, not four blocks of tiny planks.
I feel like the wood needs to be a bit rougher (Maybe from sand damage). maybe you can blend it out into the color of sand or cover it with like an 80% transparent layer of sand
Wow lots of replies! Thanks everyone for your input!
I'll release the unfinished version now for anyone to use or edit as they see fit.
Here is the GIMP file which is extremely user unfriendly because I'm to lazy to name layers or clean up ones I don't use, even I get lost using it sometimes. http://users.tpg.com.au/bluecube/terrain.xcf (right click save as I assume)
And here is the PNG:
I will still be working on it slowly but I feel I've done all the obvious/easy stuff so my work has slowed down, e,g I have no idea where to start with the furnace or work table.
EDIT: The ore textures aren't permanent I just wanted to make them not stand out to much while I had a break from texturing and went mining.
EDIT 2: I am aware it says template by copperdomebodha and I will leave that there until every single last texture is mine.
EDIT 3: I'd love to see pictures of anyone testing this texture pack out. =D
There's already a desert tex pack out there, but I must say I like the look of this one better.
Sorry I can't see that I just get a no hot-linking image =(
On another note... Here are some pics of a project I'm building using me texture pack.
Just an example of how I've tried to make all the colours compliment each other and blend.
Here's a nice video made by MineCraftOnkel also featuring sonicether's Unbelievable Shaders!

Any idea when it would be finished?
I definitely like the design of the wood though
