The Logo: The CivilCraft logo is written in Greek, when read phonetically, is Politiki Techni. Directly, it means Policy Arts, which, when substituted with different words, could mean a variety of things. Policy (having to do with Politics, and Politics pertaining to the Civilians) would then mean Civil, and Arts (Invention, Creation) would then mean Craft. Although CivilCraft does not actually mean Political Arts in this instance, it does provide a fun fact that does have a bit of relevance to the name.
After the 1.8 Update, I was forced to update my dimension to be compatible with the new World Generator. My original plan for the dimension was that it would be a flatter version of the surface world with larger biomes and deeper oceans (the Plains dimension looks far more beautiful than before, thanks Notch!). Although the new generator literally does that for me, I am keeping this mod in the new dimension to add to the game and avoid taking anything away from it. Enjoy!
Welcome! This thread is meant to introduce a new mod, CivilCraft, to Minecraft. It is a rather extensive mod, adding two new dimensions (one inside of the other), over 40 new blocks, tons of new and useful items, along with multiple world generation aspects! This explosive mod aims to emulate some real world aspects, as well as fictional aspects, to add another game within the game! The reason this mod adds a new parallel dimension is because of one of the City types, Atlantis, will generate underwater. The water on the surface world is not very deep, so the Atlantean buildings would not fit well with shallow waters. However, in the new realm, the water will extend to depths of over 50 blocks, and small towns of different types with many new mobs, new dungeons and shops will begin to fill the new dimension!
Both Civilization and The Abyss are enabled! I knew it wouldn't take long. Only The Plains are enabled right now, the Abyss was having some enter and exit problems. I will get it worked out eventually, though!
Things shown in this video:
-Atlantean Buildings (ranging from 11x6x11 to 21x9x21 in block dimensions, Over 100 different possibilities)
-Egyptian-themed pyramids (only with Atlantean loot atm)

If you want to see something added to this mod, please don't hesitate to suggest it!
Ender Pearls
The Ender Pearls, mysterious drops from Endermen, will be given a subtle use in a few recipes of this mod. Endermen are special mobs in two particular aspects; They do not move while they are being looked at and they have teleportation abilities. So far, there are two recipes that require an Ender Pearl as a sort of "activation matrix" in order for the blocks to work. The first is the portal constructor block. The block draws the teleportation powers of the pearl in order to open a portal to a new dimension. The second block is the shelter block. The block draws the immobility property from the pearl, i.e, if the block is not removed from its spot, the shelter is not removed (if you don't move, the Endermen will not move).
Regarding the poll
The compact shelter block has been made, but I still want feedback as to whether or not I should keep it in the mod! So please, vote!
The HD version contains textures that are 128x128 pixels, and are meant to go with my texture pack here.
Wow. It adds one dimension inside another? Dimension-ception.
Well, the abyssal dimension is only accessed through a naturally generating portal, i.e. it can't be built, even with hacking. The portal frame blocks can still be obtained, but there is no way to activate it.
It does sound like a lot. The Aether mod alone took I think 3 months to complete, and you want to make 2 new dimensions.....
Pffft you know why it took 'em so long? (it was more like 6-8 months, actually)
1. It was amateur work, not a well-oiled pipeline project (pipeline projects are the only reason we have games that are so in depth today), EVEN though java is literally -designed- for pipeline work.
2. They all had their own thing they were working on.
3. Time spent waiting generates hype, to a certain point.
And 4. School/work.
Look at my mod, and how far I've gotten, ALONE. Not to mention I taught this guy nearly everything he knows XD he's definitely getting better, though. Even achieved some things I hadn't been able to do. *sniff* just makes me so proud :smile.gif:

I know he can pull this off :smile.gif:
You know, it's funny. In one day, I got BOTH of my dimensions working, without SFAPI or editing base classes. And it took the Aether how long while doing both of those things? LOL.
i sent you a PM, its about generating in the nether :tongue.gif:
BTW: you should make the ID's higher, 1.8 might take them over, but it doesn't really matter, 1.8 might not, just letting you know :tongue.gif:
Nah, I don't think it will. I started at 120, and it's only up to 96. That allows 23 new blocks to be added before I need to change mine, and I don't think that many new blocks are being introduced.
