Well, this material has exceptional strength, because of its 2D graphene back bone, it also distributes loads very well.
So, if a bullet hit, the biggest problem is that steel doesn't distribute the load, causing steel itself to bend and break. Graphene oxide paper on the other hand, DOES distribute the load being a much more effective defender against bullets.
It also can be stiff, so use in buildings or vehicles are also an option.
It is also an electrical insulator, but CAN be tuned for use as a conductor/semi-conductor.
And I do not use hydraulics as my strength enhancer, I use carbon nanotubes woven into an artificial muscle, this doesn't require power, it is also flexible, allowing for an amazing suit.
These two materials, the nanotubes being on the inside, and the graphene protecting it, allows for an enhancement of a soldier in all aspects, while allowing for complete flexibility and its all VERY lightweight.
Yes, these are all REAL materials, Google them.
Ahh. Thanks.
Ill try to use that as the innermost protective layer and the suits skin. As for the hydraulics, they make a very strong skeletal support. Carbon nanotubes are to expensive and advanced to create right now. The suit has to be ready before the 2012 presidential election, so theres no way I can use them on a large scale.
@OP have you forgotten how that went for everyone else in Iron man 2 (if yous saw movie you remember it didn't go well for Iran, Korea, or USA to make a mech suit)

If your talking about the scene where the guy twisted around backwards, then that cant happen with my suit. It has a blockage system that prevents the suit from bending within 5 degrees of the maximum ark my joints can bend.

I use them because they're strong, and they enhance BOTH agility and strength, they're very diverse.
In real life, they're still in trials, but they aren't exactly using them for my reasons.
I do prefer bulk over being light. With bulk comes more protection, and you can be faster by using afterburners. A light suit would use carbon nanotubes and enhanced synaptic relay times coupled with liquid respiration.
Those enhancements would go good with a bulk suit to, they would just be less effective.
Arg, I played crysis 2, thats where I got my inspiration for looking for a suit similar to that. I ACTUALLY did research unlike OP, and got real world items which are potential candidates for such a suit.

Well, with my suit, you get the best of both worlds, sure, you could be a walking tank, but if people get close to you, you're dead.
I try to combine both of them, you have to sacrifice in both areas, but you get an over-all better performance.
In a suit like mine, enhanced synaptic relay times wouldn't excatly be essential, once again, the graphene oxide paper, that CAN be layered for even MORE protection, while staying light can be done.
I'm not exactly sure about the liquid respiration, you wouldn't need that for any particular reason, would you?
My suit is incredibly light, and thin, so you can carry more, and move fast, I do not see how a walking tank is any better than mine, other than increased protection and firepower at the cost of mobility.

I'm a ****ing genius.

Liquid respiration would make you generaly faster. It would also allow you to run longer and faster, as your not limited as much by oxygen intake through normal air (or even pure O2).
One other thing, a light suit wouldnt have the capibility for shields. Or atleast not very strong shields. A light suit would be vulnerable to large explosions. Once your suits graphine skin runs out of space to spread the shockwave it goes right into you.

The point of armor is to protect you, not shrug off explosions, plus, as a soldier, you wouldn't walk like a badass taking bullets, you would hide behind cover and fire.
It would be using real world tactics, but faster, and safer.
And I though breathing pure oxygen was deadly, don't you need nitrogen or something? Must Google...
Pure O2 is super flamable. Liquid respiration uses a special liquid that isnt flamable and your cells can extract much more oxygen from each molecule.
Anyway, the point of this suit IS to take fire directly. There isnt much cover available when your tank turns everything into ash. :tongue.gif: It has to withstand the shockwave of my Mk-2 Reaper Tanks plasma railgun point blank. Its not built for a mass of soldiers running in to take 1/3rd losses. Specialy constructed for 1 mission with only a few people against the full might of the US military. I have done my research.
It also need to be a self contained atmosphic containment unit... For space. I know what Im doing. World domination ISNT my plan...
Ahh. Thanks.

I dont realy think Mark-VI or Mark-IV suits would be that strong if you manufactured a perfect functional replica IRL.

Well isn't the strength mostly from the energy shield?
Alaya you are correct, the defense capabilities are from the shield mostly, if the shield is gone, you're toast.
And, my ideas are built upon factual things, yours are not OP.
Those enhancements would go good with a bulk suit to, they would just be less effective.

Yeah, except my ideas are plausible.
Why does nobody take the time to read my posts thoroughly? You know, and realize that I'm not talking BS like OP?
YUM YUM YUM!
