Power armor is an exo-suit designed to supplement the wearer. A mech is much larger and is piloted. Power armor normaly has shields, build in weapon systems, and can take explosions and bullets without breaking or injuring the person inside.

Anyway, would you wear it? Where?

I would wear it at all times. Nothing like being a walking tank with dual miniguns. :P Im actuly working on my own suit. So far its half completed, the hydraulic boosters arnt strong enough yet, it needs a neurological interface still, and it lacks a weapons grade uranium core to power its magnetic shield and other power heavy systems. Im still designing the arm mounted dual miniguns (they unfold out).

Register or log in to remove.

I wouldn't wear it at all times but as a Mechwarrior fan I think it has interesting (and terrifying!) implications for the future. I mean... holy shit the destruction we're capable of.

If there is anything I would wear at all times it would be weighted clothing. I'd inhibit my ability to move in order to make myself stronger. Then, if I ever need that extra boost, I just remove the weights and feel like Hercules.

This isnt fallout 3.

Easy! Just jump up the piles of rubble untill you fall through, then walk into the citital, and find that old fart. /[sarcasm

Wish it was that easy.

And, power armour? Well, I don't like the big cluncky version, they REALLY bother me...

You don't need giant one inch thick STEEL plates to feel powerful...

I find it hard to believe you are building anything like this, and if you were it would something the military/government would already have that is working and has been released to the public. Plus your a 13 year old kid, I doubt you have either the time and/or the knowledge short of watching Ironman of how to build something like this. Also, I'm sure your parents wouldn't be able to afford or even allow you to build this. As for the weapons grade Uranium? I'm sure they sell something like that at Walmart. Oh wait, that's lethal stuff, lol jk.

Anyways, I wish you luck on your project, I mean I'm sure you can do something that scientists haven't been able to get working right yet. Be sure to post some pictures when you're finished.

A 1 inch think steel plate can be penetrated by a 9mm carbine. My suit has 5 inch thick special steel (No carbon, no flexing it), and other metals beneath it along with a thermal grid and a "hot zone" thats kept extremly hot so any projectile that makes it that deep will get liquidized and stoped by the inner barrier.

Im very flexable and fast, my suit will be to. Timed afterburner boosts will massivle boost my speed and allow me to jump very high. Strategic injections of adrenaline (administered by the ACAS coupling) will increase my reaction times and agility. Basicly stimpacks.

I know it seems impossible. Im centurys more advanced on the technological scale then the rest of humanity. I have advanced weapon prototypes, several designes for fuel-less thrusters, point zero generators, and blueprints for a dreadnaught starship.

Iron man? That suit didnt even look an inch thick. Theres no way it could stop a bullet (it had no shields) or suplement his strenght that much.

It doesnt cost sevral million dollars to make simple exo-suits and weapons... Unlike regular human research teams who take way to long aswell.

Thanks for the support :)

Trolololol

You have 5 inch thick steel plates and plan on being flexible? You're out of your mind.

Now, graphene oxide paper, 13 times tougher than steel, flexible as rubber, thats what I would use.

Explain more about this material please. Is it stronger against bullets, bludgeon, or tensil strength?

I have an idea now. Supplementing my joints with 2cm thick spider webs. That would help protect my limbs from being torn off in an explosive shockwave.

I would like to first say that you sir, are very funny, I truly laughed out loud. Second of all, it does take quite a bit of money to make these things, mostly because if you do have all these things you say you have, then how did you make them? Did you pull a MacGyver on your bicycle and a few paperclips? Though I'm sure you've never seen or even heard of MacGyver considering he is way past your time.

Those things are DESIGNS. And yes, I have heard of MacGyver. Wasnt he from some old show where he would create complex mechanisms from simple items?

Congratulations, either you actually knew that or your advanced brain has master google. Well I think I am done here, please continue to "build" your awesome suit. I'm sure it will be amazing.

I have an idea now. Supplementing my joints with 2cm thick spider webs. That would help protect my limbs from being torn off in an explosive shockwave.

Well, this material has exceptional strength, because of its 2D graphene back bone, it also distributes loads very well.

So, if a bullet hit, the biggest problem is that steel doesn't distribute the load, causing steel itself to bend and break. Graphene oxide paper on the other hand, DOES distribute the load being a much more effective defender against bullets.

It also can be stiff, so use in buildings or vehicles are also an option.

It is also an electrical insulator, but CAN be tuned for use as a conductor/semi-conductor.

And I do not use hydraulics as my strength enhancer, I use carbon nanotubes woven into an artificial muscle, this doesn't require power, it is also flexible, allowing for an amazing suit.

These two materials, the nanotubes being on the inside, and the graphene protecting it, allows for an enhancement of a soldier in all aspects, while allowing for complete flexibility and its all VERY lightweight.

Yes, these are all REAL materials, Google them.

I'd rather have a mechanical skeleton.

Wearing something around you seems abit bulky and I want to keep my tiny weak appearance...

People will be too busy laughing at me to stop me from hacking them to bits with a sickle. :3
