This is cryptic to me. welp

Make the brightest and darkest parts of the texture (plank seams for darkest, some 1px lines in the wood fillets for brightest) a little less bright and dark correspondingly.

Am I the only one who creates my palette in sections - as in, create stone palette, texture stone; add on grass palette, create grass...[etc.]...?

Is this bad?
am I doing it wrong like this? Or am I just odd?

I doubt you're the only one here who does that sort of thing. Besides, it's better to be odd, because being normal is boring :3

How exactly do people layer CTM? I'd like to have all of the planks end at the edges with horizontal connection, overlayed on top of these current textures.

That diamond would be excellent if you could try to animate it, and I absolutely adore your grass

That's quite the interesting design there. But yes, it is an improvement over the previous one

That's odd...I suggested him to do the opposite, albeit by a small amount, which is what he was trying out there

Not sure if just opinion, or 'cause colour-blindness...

Maybe, but if it affects my palette, then I'll be in trouble...

You can always test your palette first, just make some random textures, and
if you feel that some colours aren't right, revise them.

Bro, I'm colour-blind, so I often try to use a more systematic approach;
often-times I pick-out colours I thought weren't right that would've done fine

I made another try for my bedrock. Wich variant do you like more? The one is a bit outstanding, the other basically just darkened clearstone.

Oh, Sorry :c
Guess there's not a whole lot more I can do to try and help

I like the smoother one better. The X shaped one would be good for an Iron Block though

Very interesting as Visual_Argonian said, i like it. Maybe the colour is a bit warm for iron (it is iron, right?).

Off topic - yay!

Anyone know tips for grass?

For those curious, this is all I got to, as further attempts looked awful but I'll probably just restart:

Green, do you think that you could compile all your palettes in a folder and upload it somewhere, because I'm awful at picking colors and I'm mainly using colors  from one of your palettes in a pack I'm making. Just a thought.

Lol, too bad I can't do much with them :P But If you'd like, sure.

Ahaha! I saw your other post looking for tips on creating a palette

Now, that really dark Blue/Purple (can't tell 'cause so deep); I'm assuming you'll be using that as your outline, yes? As I think the tones surrounding are too bright against it - basically, I'm saying you should maybe add another dark tone just about the outline one for each colour-set.

Also, those orange/brown ones (top right-ish); wouldn't it make more sense if they also blended towards your outline colour?

Of course, this is assuming that is what you're using for your outline.
And assuming I'm seeing the colours right, as my eyes deceive me sometimes...

The dark blue I have in the middle is my base outline/extremely dark color for any really deep shadowing or outlines for something. I adjusted the top right brown color to be a bit lighter, but obviously still darker the one below and to the left of. How I pick colors is like many other people, the darker I get, the more saturation I use, and the Lighter I get, the less saturated I get. I'm not perfectly fond of the strip all the way to the right, the transition from green to brown, but I feel Ill use some of those colors in my pack when I think about it. When making a palette for a texture pack, I keep in mind that I need colors for all the ores, the wood, logs, etc etc etc. I take all the blocks into consideration, then try to have the least colors possible, as well as having colors for every block, especially the wools.

Well after several months I finally sat down and started working on the mobs to my pack.

How now brown cow?

Fine normal cows..

and three mooshrooms.

Still need some work, wish I could see the skins on the models as I'm editing. Might remove the horns on them as they clip though the ears,

Might look a little better if it wasn't mainly pillow-shading, but they look pretty damn good, especially the faces :3

@Taiine
I think maybe you should make them look a bit more pelty. Not that's a stupid word. Uhm. Furry. Notsoplasticlike. if you can even understand what I'm saying.

Personally, I think anything else than pillowshading doesn't really work with mobs. I'm not sure why.
