Well apparently this game is mad at me. Today I attempted to join multiple servers and was greeted by a black screen. NO ERROR MESSAGES!

It just says "Switching Applet" for half of a second before disappearing to a black screen. I've waited a while and it never loads.

In the java console it gave me a small thing saying

Quote

Exception in thread "Thread-13" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Can't load library: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\\minecraft.net\Minecraft\natives\lwjgl.dll

Meaning the files were inaccessable. Go straight to that exact file string, go inside the temp folder and find and delete the "minecraft.net" folder.

Go onto a minecraft classic server and allow it to download

It will probably be fixed after this. Happy Crafting! :D

That doesn't do a thing! I deleted the folder, went to a server, it re-downloaded itself, black screen. Reload, switching applet black screen.

you sure you deleted the entire folder? not the folder within the folder?

This is happening to me to i run a mac so where would the folder be located? Because the only folder I've ever found ,when deleted, still did not work.

NOTICE: Java 7 Beta causes creative to blackscreen. Just uninstall java 7 if you have it, that could help.

What i did is i restored my minecraft folder (.minecraft) or (minecraft.jar i did this one) and it worked again! You might lose some stuff but if u really wanna play again then do it... btw i use a PC.
Hope this helps! :Notch:

Is that really true? I've been having this issue for almost forever and I never knew that.

Anyone who is still having these problems I managed to find an answer! It took long enough but I found a link that can help you with the applet switch black screen for a Mac. I'm on a MacBook Pro and it was seen as a glitch in the Apple's java. to fix the black screen do as written: go to Minecraft.net and open classic single player. As soon as you select single player, wait about a second and then hold down the shift key and command key at the same time. As you hold these keys down, hover the mouse over the black screen that Minecraft would usually appear on, but not over the section that the applet/security alert will appear. A window that allows you to drag a page will appear over the background of the security alert. Drag this screen to the side and proceed to answer the security alert (I answered with Yes). Now you should have Minecraft loading normally on the page you dragged across. Just drag this page across to the middle of the screen and close any other windows you have open. Happy gaming :) PS: If you want to read the link I found, here it is: http://www.minecraft...37#entry8508737
