Thanks to Samkio & Torrent for this video.

Here's a giant painting, created by samalot.

The paint mod allows you to craft paintbrushes which you can then use to paint on most blocks.
Posted Image
You can color the paintbrush by putting it in a crafting table with any dye.
Posted Image
You can also make a paint chipper, which acts like an eraser.
Posted Image
You can wash paint off using water (or lava). The paint mod will generate a file called "world.paint" in your saves. If you delete this file, all the paint in the world will be cleared.

Detail brushes can be crafted by using a feather instead of a wool block. They will paint much smaller areas. Also, a paint knife, crafted with flint instead of an iron ingot, can remove small areas of paint.

If you want to rinse a brush off, so that it can be dyed a different color, throw the brush in a body of water. I mean, you have to manually throw the item (with the Q key, unless you've changed it) into a water block.

Downloads
If you need help installing, you can check out this video, made by Wolv21.
Download (adf.ly)
Download for Server (adf.ly)
Download (regular)-Download for Server (regular)

Installation
For the first download, simply install the contents of "Put in JAR" into minecraft.jar (remember to delete META-INF). Be sure to read the readme! If you need to get the mod working with ModLoader, the readme explains how.

For the server download, install the files into minecraft_server.jar. Make sure you're using the .jar and not the .exe, because there's no way to mod the .exe. The server download is only for the vanilla server. It doesn't work for Bukkit.

(Maybe) coming soon!

Another excellent mod. Good for marking things and such. :) Plus it makes me feel like a griefer, even though I only tried it on SSP. :P

I don't see why everyone is so focused on the griefing aspects of the mod.

I'd use it to draw minecart station maps and murals. And make my station part of the red line.

Instant download...if it was ModLoader compatible, which sadly, it isn't. I'll be waiting for that update.
If you call @notch fat, he'll delay the 1.8 update even further.

The Paint mod looks really awesome. Could you give a few more details about the SMP version? For instance if everyone has to have the singleplayer mod alongside the server also having it, and any know bugs?

I'd be even happier if you could add a new item.. a fine paintbrush made from string rather than wool, for painting single pixels.

If you install the SMP version, everyone connected to the server must have the client mod. If they don't, they will be kicked (invalid packet). It has no known bugs, but it also hasn't been tested as rigorously as the singleplayer version.

I like the idea of a detail brush! I'll probably add that soon.

Ah, I thought that would be the case. I didn't want to disrupt people on my server too much which is why I didn't just test it myself. Hopefully 1.8.. okay being realistic, Minecraft 1.10, will include auto-downloading mods from servers - similar to Garrys mod etc. That being said, I might test it out with a couple of people when the server is quiet and I have time, I'll make sure I post any bugs I encounter here :)

I'm glad you liked the idea :D I think it would help encourage decent pixel art, and allow people to write messages for eachother much more easily, as they could fit more in a small space.

In the video it looks like the painbrush stays still whilst painting, if you could make it do the default "punch" animation, I think that would help with the aesthetics of the mod a bit. I haven't done any Minecraft modding myself, so feel free to laugh and say "that will be tricky to do, you don't know anything about modding do you har har".

One more thing, the paint splodges aren't in my opinion, very good looking. If your wanting to make them circles/rounded, I'd recommend looking at this image (not mine) and changing them to the 5 or 7 diameter circles.

Spray painting isn't necessarily griefing :D (assuming your comment included mine also)
