I'm building a huge city in my SMP server. There will easily be a hundred different buildings in the city, so it's pretty hard to come up with ideas to make everything stand out with a unique appearance and still be aesthetic. Sometimes I can look at a real-world building and reproduce it in-game, but sometimes it's just not quite the easiest thing to do. Being able to look at something someone else has already built in-game and basing my creation off of THAT, however, helps a ton. And many of the things you have here really help give me a vision for where to go with some things.

So, in conclusion, GREAT job on all of that stuff, and thanks for the inspiration. =)

edit: Just one thing. Can I request a closer-up screenshot showing some of the detail of the diamond-topped building in the background of this one? I think it's the Three World Financial Center?

OP, looking great so far and I hope it turns out to your liking in the end. It could be an epic build even without the sentiment behind it :D

BTW I'd encourage you to put out whatever texture pack you're using (assuming it's custom) as well as to consider putting out general "city" maps in the future after this project. You've got something of a knack for it and I bet people would love to play wargames on one of your maps that wouldn't be controversial if they blew it up (don't forget that maps can be saved and restored unlike in real life, unfortunately).
