We could get boulders in 1.8 or the update after that.

Notch streamed a video of him coding recently.

The last few parts of it showed him making code for what appeared to be boulders in a brick or stone room that had iron bars in narrow gaps on the walls (Stronghold?), and the walls were breakable and would shatter just like in Minecraft.

He worked on the code for a while, and in the end, the boulders were actually pushable, so you could push them around the room.

I'm seriously thinking this will be in 1.8 or later.

He was coding a COMPLETELY different game, for some sort of contest, with the theme being "escape". It's on the front page. It didn't even look like minecraft. He was one block high, he couldn't collect any items, and he was destroying blocks simply by pressing spacebar.

Maybe, but this "new game" looks a lot like Minecraft. So Notch could probably add this to Minecraft as well.

He can't add boulders to minecraft, because they're circular  :P .

He already added them, because he made them cubic.

Well with all due respect that's some awfully shaky logic. Statistically speaking the boulders you saw in his game programming are just as likely to become a Minecraft feature as anything else Notch was programming into this game. Which is to say, not very likely at all.

Read his twitter. It's for Ludum Dare or something like that, it's basically a bunch of people all building a game from scratch over the weekend. Notch was streaming that.

I'm sorry, but no. Just no. That's not how programming works. Just because one game has 16-bit graphics and so does another doesn't mean you can throw them together like some kind of Voltron-esque Java abomination.
And this was in NO WAY connected to MC, which you would've known if you watched more than 15 minutes of it. It's a game being made over this weekend for Lumum Dare with the theme of "escape". This is on the front page of this very forum.

The room in this new game looks like one on Minecraft. The blocks look recycled from Minecraft. And when the blocks break, it looks exactly like if they broke on Minecraft.

This game probably has a lot of things recycled from Minecraft, so really, if Notch can put boulders in it, he could put them in Minecraft.
