You do NOT, I repeat, do NOT get this version free. The terms and conditions were saying 'Any future updates to the game', well, this is another game in its entirety. Just like Modern Warfare 2 isn't the same game as Modern Warfare. Or Call of Duty: Black Ops isn't the same as Call of Duty. (First two games that came to mind that the majority of us will have heard of.) It is a new game, with it's own Terms of Service. You can call some lawyers, go ahead, but rest assured you will loose, so please don't waste your money.
Build and price:
The current build of the game is Alpha 0.1, and it costs around $7 USD, or €4.86 Euro.
The Features:
This game is pretty advanced for its first version, I know the first version of Minecraft wasn't this advanced.

The first version (Alpha 0.1) will focus on the creative aspects of Minecraft. We have tried to put in the features that make sense for playing on a mobile device while still keeping the core of the Minecraft experience. You will be able to select blocks on the touchscreen or just scroll through them with the circle and square buttons on the Xperia Play device. The first version also supports multi-player on a local wireless network allowing you to create a world and invite friends to build together.
Randomized Worlds
Build anything you can imagine, up to hight cap.
36 blocks
Multiplayer over local wireless
Save multiplayer worlds to phone
If you are standing on one block, and want to sneak to place a block right by it since your in air, well, you can just stand on the block in front of the air, and then place your cursor in the air, then place it!
Auto-Jumping, yes I said it, Auto-Jumping. What I mean is, say you saw this prediciment:
and you don't wanna keep jumping, just walk. The game will have your character, or 'char', jump up by itself.
Username (There is no set screen name, so edit it at will!)

Apple Devices:
[/anchor]This includes the iPhone, the iPod, and anything Apple. The reason it isn't for these phone's isn't because Mojang hates them, only because it is more practical for it to be on Android. They will lose less profit from Android. The code porting will be easier, and it will be done faster. I am sure they are planning for Apple, but please stop complaining, as it won't help at all, and it is just becoming annoying seeing how atleast 20% of the threads in this section are complaining about it not being on Apple products. There is nothing you can do to get it out faster. But I am sure once Android forms are out they might start working on getting out an Apple form, although unlikely, as I said, it is more practical for a company to put it on Android, they might put it on Apple eventually. But also, take a look at these statistics.

Well said! I've posted a bunch of information about the game in this thread that will hopefully help everyone understand the differences between the PC and Pocket Edition versions, and why they should be regarded as two different beasts.
I think Minecraft on the Xperia Play will be a disappointment for the PC players due the lack of features in the Pocket Edition. But that's why it's called a Pocket Edition, obviously.
Yea, but look at the PC version of Minecraft. It started out in a less advanced form as this, a lot less advanced. I hope this gets big eventually. I think it will, and will be less of 'On the go' and more of "Take forever to do anything if on the go, but still can, although best is for long playthrough's "

It's a stickied thread, and I know what you are talking about. I am the correct one, not the person saying that Pocket Edition is free for alpha users
Stole the words right out of my Mouth!
You're very welcome, as I said earlier, always happy to help people!
Although I agree, it is basically flaming the entire Apple company, but whatever!
Fixed a typo I saw, and thanks for pointing that out, will fix! Also, adding a Table of Contents.
I know, I want one to. But alas, I don't have any phone ):
Edit: Brought version up to 6!
