Minecraft is made to not follow the clock! That's the entire purpose of the game!

Yeah one real day is 72 minecraft days
24x60:20
If one day was 24minutes instead of 20 it'll be 1 real day=60 minecraft days
24x60:24

I once made a time-system for this opensource game OpenClonk. Whoever decided that the 'full day' should be divided into 24 hours (in the real world) needs to be shot repeatedly until death.
Decimal Times are so, so, so much easier to manage.

I think day/night duration, as well as many other things, should be options when you spawn the world. For instance, I'd love to have a map populated entirely by zombies- and zombies only- so I could live out my zombie survival fantasies.

Why not just make it an option such that all mob can spawn in any light conditions?
