A lot of people have a definition of the word 'griefing' in minecraft. Mine is: Purposely destroying something someone else made.

Some people might call it funny.  Some people might call it fun.  Some people think it's upsetting.  Some call it dumb

What's your definition?

When I'm sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.

Their = Possession  There = Place They're = They are. LEARN IT.

I say griefing is
A griefer is a player who does things in a game to deliberately cause annoyance ("grief" in the sense of "giving someone grief") for their own enjoyment. Examples include half-killing on purpose, constant suicides, and targeting specific players. This is a bannable offense.

My definition: People who purposely put obsidian ALL over your map.
Mind you, it's not hard to clean up with WorldEdit.

I think a good one is:

A player on a Multiplayer server, who uses tools, flint and steel, buckets of water and lava, and TNT to destroy player-made structures and generally cause chaos.

Mine is: Unwanted modification of a minecraft structure to cause annoyance or anger.

Also related to the definition of greifing: I went on a server and started to play. When I got bored, I mined a protected block, as most players do, beacause's protected and will not bother anyne. (it's a habit) All of a sudden a mod appeared and asked why I was destroying the block. Ovbiously I was annoyed and we had an argument wheter or not what I did was "attempted greifing".  I argued that I didn't attempt anything and that the rules board at the server spawn did not state that destroying protected zones is greifing, as it does nothing. I was kicked and told to "lose the attitude". Moral of the story: A server mod's definition of greifing sucks.

Griefing: PvP in a situation where PvP/that type of PvP is against the rules of the server. Usually.

I believe that griefing is destroying, stealing, or permanently ruining someone's stuff.  However, there are a lot of mean or annoying things you can do that aren't griefing.  Like filling someone's house with ice.  Or planting huge numbers of trees on his roof.  If you've seen the video "the vining" then that's on the border of griefing because clearing it up must have taken ages.

Treeing, icing, and vining are my top three pranks.  Make sure to use oak trees.  Branches are a pain in the butt.

A ******* ********.

Seriously though, a griefer is a thing (doesn't even deserve to be called a person) who intentionally messes with people by doing things like destroying your creations, building offensive structures, etc AND they do it just to annoy/irritate you!
