Have you ever heard of something called a cranium? If you haven't, it forms a large part of your skull, and here at Skulls Co., we specialise in magic. What kind of magic, you may ask. Of course, it's not the plain old magic that everyone knows of. Rather, it's sorcery using CRANIUMS (of course, isn't that what it's supposed to be about?)! Doesn't that thrill you? Well, let's get on to the details.
Now, we all know that you don't normally see skulls and bones lying around the ground. Then where can we find them? Of course, they're found underground, where all the flesh of a living organism has decomposed, leaving their skeletons behind. So what if you've found them, though? It's encased in a block of stone as a result of staying underground for hundreds of years.
Details:
To extract the cranium from the block of fossil, here's what you have to do:
Now, here you have a very precious little cranium. It could be dangerous, depending on how you use it. So is the opposite(mostly, hehe). Thus, the company has come up with two inventions to assist you in your sorcery. The Light-Cranium is shown below, and when the cranium is held and the user right-clicks, it changes to a Dark-Cranium. This works vice versa, depending on the time of day. However, when you obtain a cranium at the start, it holds no attribute.
Now, we may have made our cranium take on an attribute, but what use is that?
Cranium and Ingot:
This is what we named The Cranium and Ingot (a little too straightforward I guess, but it gets to the point). This combined item is used in a special device, something we'd like to call the Sorceror. It uses the cranium to enchant the Ingot, with the help of a catalyst, a ghoul wood, and that results in the Cranium Ingot:
As I've said earlier, these are the cranium ingots, created by the Sorceror to form these enchanted ingots. Apparently, these ingots have some special properties. The Light-Imbued Ingot seems to have a small amount of healing properties, whereas the Darkness-Imbued Ingot holds on to a demonic power, which slowly drains the health of the wielder. However, these properties do not activate unless they are crafted into tools.
So what is the Sorceror? Here, you'll find out.
Sorceror:
Cool huh?
Here's what the interface looks like once opened:
This is how the Sorceror is made:
The feathers represent the light element, whereas the bones represent the dark element. The craniums used here have to have no attributes at all, so the sorcerer(Not the Sorceror device) should not use the light or dark craniums in this creation.
Now here's how the ghoul wood mentioned a little while ago is made. Very simple. Firstly, Cursed Wood is crafted in this manner:
This recipe brings about the enchantment of the iron ingot by being a catalyst. However, Cursed Wood in this form cannot be used as the catalyst. Instead, it has to be smelted in a furnace, before it is ready to be used.
Alright. Up till now we've been talking about the creation of the attributed ingots, but they are useless without any application of the items. So a few tools can be crafted. Here are the two sets of tools that can be made:
After long experimentation, we found out that these tools cannot utilise sticks as a handle. The properties of the attributed ingots will not be activated unless bones are used as replacement.
So, this is how each tool is crafted:
So what's so good about these tools? How are they unique? The demonic toolset is stronger than the holy toolset, but both sets are equally balanced in a way. To find out what happens, equip one of the tools, and wait for a good 5 minutes.
We've created ingots, and made tools out of them, but is that all you can do with such mystical powers? there are much better uses for them, such as these two stones, to have sufficient defense against monsters and other threats you might face.
The demonic stone, as you might have guessed, damages entities in four block radius by half a heart every 10 seconds. Will it damage you though? Of course not. This enchanted stone is only able to detect non-human entities, so only monsters and animals are affected by this.
The holy stone, works similarly, but in the opposite. It heals the sorcerer in four block radius by half a heart every 10 seconds. This time, the stone only affects you, and not other entities. (Unless you see herobrine and if you consider him human)
Here is how both stones can be crafted, it is very simple:
Of course, you might want to get your ingots back, if you've decided that you did not want to use the stones.
Now, due to a few suggestions of adding a decoration object — something similar a pumpkin head but looks like a skull — this block has been designed, and it can be worn as a helmet. However, the skull head has only a small hole that is of the size of your neck, so it's not big enough to stick your head through it by placing it from your inventory. Instead, you have to wear it by right-clicking with it held in your hand, which will then cause it to apear on your head though the magical properties of the cranium.
To craft this, you will need 2 important adhesive items, cement and bone scraps. Cement is a result of clay melting from it's original solid state, which will harden when it cools down. This is needed to make the block due to the bone scraps, which needs to be stuck together.
For bone scraps, they're crushed bones, made from the combination of cement and bonemeal. The end result of this crafting gives us a block that looks like a skull.
This produces the Skull Head, which can be used as decoration or as a helmet. Since a skull is hollow on the inside, it brings us to the next object, the Skull Lamp.
This object, as you can infer from its name, is a block which produces light. It is the result of placing a torch into the Skull Head, as seen in this recipe:
The lamp is able to light up the surroundings much brighter than a torche would.
If you're on a journey far away from the protection of your protection stones, you would require something else to keep you safe. Say, doesn't a force field sound nice?
This is how it is crafted:
The Fortress Trigger lasts for 10 minutes upon activation, where you can turn it off to conserve magical energy. Once it runs out, it self-destructs, without hurting you of course. Right clicking with it in hand will activate it and another right click will deactivate it. It makes use of holy powers to repel any entities, such as monsters, animals, arrows, and even ghast fireballs!
This is a video of the fortress trigger being tested:
While activated, it also acts as night vision goggles. Awesome, right?
Protoforms are prototype blocks which have the ability to shift it's texture into any full sized blocks. Using a ProtoMorpher, you can harness the power of evil to change a Protoform to look like other blocks.
Right clicking a block which isn't a Protoform with the ProtoMorpher clones it into its core. Then, by right clicking the ProtoMorpher on a Protoform, it shifts its texture into the cloned block's texture. You can also choose to change only one side of the block, which uses "shift + right-click" to clone only that specific side of the block and to change how the Protoform looks on that side.
Currently, however, blocks such as leaves and grass would have no colour due to the changes in colour in different biomes of the world.

Guys, refresh the page, I left out some info, which made this mod pointless.
So are there going to be spells, or spell like effects or something at some point? I see what you have so far but where are you going with this? Will I be able to be an evil overlord who can rain down fire on the world at some point or summon an army of undead bunnies to do my bidding?

Ahh, you see, you said "at some point". Of course there will be, but for now, no. It's still quite basic, and I have lots to learn. Anyways, you have given a good suggestion. That, I will keep.

Very cool. Well it looks to be a good start. This + Vilecraft may take care of all my 'evil overlord' needs. I'll be watching this one.

Hey guys, If you have any confusing about this mod check out this mod review video:
by the way, nice mod, It's just that the ingots need more uses.
I see a great review over here. Thanks for the video :smile.gif: Although you still have not found out about everything. Try reading the OP one more time, you might find out what I meant. Again, thanks for the video :smile.gif:
Maybe you could have cranium mobs that spawn when you over use the cranium or maybe even something you could wear on your head which replenishes your health over time .... I don't know but maybe you could do something with that XD
Good idea, but that would probably take more time :smile.gif: For now I'm still working on a few stuff for v2
