Current Version of mod: v2.5

Changes
- Removed scale armor for the time being, due to a huge change in Notch's code that prevents adding armor without either 1. editing a class that will cause errors with other armor-adding mods or 2. using an extreme amount of editing that may not even work.

- It's back!

- Added bamboo fences, craftable like in this image:

Hello everyone, Cojomax99 here!


After having spent the past 4 months constantly working on this project, I have realized how time-consuming a mod is when you also have school and other tasks to attend to! I always find myself busy, but during any spare time I have, I am modding! I do not need your donations, but if you would like to donate, it would make me feel really good about the mod, and I would know that you guys truly enjoy what I am doing! Description

In Minecraft 1.7.3 and earlier, Minecraft had beaches everywhere! It was almost as if Minecraft and Tropicraft were meant to be together, as one! But with the addition of new biome generation techniques in 1.8, the number of beaches drastically decreased. As such, we added Fishtaco567 to the team, and he has made what we know will be the best possible tropical getaway for everybody!

Description

About a month ago, I was talking to Corosus on IRC. I knew that he was working on a "destruction" mod, and he knew I was working on tropical storms. A team was born short after, and we are so glad!

We will not give any specific details about storms away, but trust me, it will be much more fun for you to experience them first hand, rather than seeing images of the storms, which really do not do the storms justice. But I will leave you all with one tidbit:

Particles...so many...particles...destruction...DESTRUCTION!!!!!

Description

Although we had been planning on adding tribes since the earliest version of Tropicraft, we have decided to put a lot of work into making these tribes unique due to the seemingly unanimous desire for natives!

We cannot divulge any images except the above at this time. We can't tell you guys everything we are doing, or there wouldn't be any surprises!


Monkeys

Description:

Monkeys are basically MrRube's baby. He has spent countless hours slaving over these guys, and we know you will love them. If you toss a monkey a pina colada, he will pick it up, drink it, and toss back the empty cup. After a few drinks, the monkey will become your friend, and if you sit in a beach chair, the monkey will sit with you! If you give the monkey too many drinks, however, he will become hostile, and...well, i'll let you find out what happens then

MrRube and I had a long discussion on how we what mobs we were going to add (This was a loooong while ago) and we came to the conclusion that Minecraft is incredibly lacking in water mobs, so we aim to remedy this situation! MrRube did a great job on these guys!

Cojomax99
A relatively unknown modder who enjoys long walks on the beach, creating mods that people like, and a good challenge! He has created only two other mods, one of which is LAPI(Liquid API) which Tropicraft uses.

Corosus
Corosus, the guy that brought you a more challenging minecraft and the armies to fight against it, will be contributing his experience with storms and tornadoes/hurricanes into tropicraft, and much more!

Fishtaco567 joins the tropicraft team bringing his vast knowledge of land generation! Fish will be in charge of all land generation in the tropical realm, and also has a great height mod of his own!

Pablomittens
Pablomittens and his always cheerful self brings a much-loved knowledge of Tile entities and GUIs, and is the main developer of the sifter! When he is not working on tropicraft, he is usually eating one of his snowcones from his snowcone mod!

Fotoply
When I first met fotoply, nobody had heard of me. I was completely undiscovered, and he was one of the few people who believed that I could make a popular mod. Now here we are! Fotoply and his bots always bring a fresh perspective to the IRC channel!

Iguanas

Description:

Iguanas are by far the most elegant creature in Tropicraft. These little guys are docile...until attacked. If you attack them, they will attack back...not alone, but in a group, just like wolves!

Drop:

Scales, which can be used to make scale armor (see below)



Starfish

Description:

Starfish are by far the most elusive mob in Tropicraft. These little guys are very cool, however. As seen in the video, if you hit them, they will pull a starmie and try to run away as best as they can.

Drop:

Starfish shells, which, hopefully soon, will be mountable on the wall for decoration.



Tree Frogs

Description:

The green tree frogs are not poisonous, these guys are your friends. The red, blue, and yellow frogs, on the other hand, are deadly. These guys are speed demons, and their toxin is as fatal as the most jacked creeper!

Drop:

Green Frog: frog leg, which can be cooked to make cooked frog leg, which can be eaten.
Poison Frogs: poison skin, which can be used in the recipe for poison darts.

Description:

Easter Island Heads will destroy you. It's as simple as that. Just don't walk up to one of them holding a Chunk O' Head.

Description:

What you see is what you get. Palm trees with palm leaves and palm wood and coconuts. Coconuts have many uses, as you will find out later on!


Coconuts/Coconut Chunks

Coconut Chunks


Description:

Coconuts form naturally on palm trees, and will decay with the leaves as palm leaves fall due to the logs nearby being taken away.

Coconuts can be slashed with a sword of any type to yield anywhere from 1-5 coconut chunks!

Drop:

Coconuts drop coconuts unless slashed with a sword

Uses:

Coconut Chunks can be stacked up to 8 and heal the exact same way that cookies do.

Fun Facts

Irises function the same way as a single-block-high block! If you destroy either part of it (the stem or the flower) you will receive the entire flower!

Pineapple



Uses

Pineapples can be planted sustainably! If you chop the top off the pineapple, the stem will remain. In a semi-short period of time, another pineapple will grow in its place! If you destroy the stem, however, nothing will grow back, because it is gone!

Description

Scale armor makes the user impervious to the effects of fire -if and only if- the user is wearing the entire set of armor!

Description

Drink a pina colada, and it will function like an old food, where you can just chug it down in one gulp! It will heal 3 hearts!

Instructions for Installation(Requires Risugami's ModLoader/AudioMod)

• Download Modloader
  
• Download AudioMod
  
• Download Tropicraft
  
• Open up your Minecraft.jar (if you do not know how to do this, there are many, many tutorials online)
  
• Use 7zip, winrar, or whatever you prefer, to drag the armor folder, tropicalmod folder, and all of the tropicraft class files into the jar (DO NOT TAKE CONTENTS OUT OF THE FOLDERS, JUST DRAG THEM AS THEY ARE INTO THE JAR.
  
• Simply place the files in the folder labeled 'place contents in .minecraft folder' in their correct locations. The folder labeled 'mods' and the folder labeled 'resources' should be also be in the .minecraft folder. If you use winrar/7zip, just drag the files into the folder to override. If not, just copy the files from inside the folders and place them in the same location in your .minecraft folder.
  
• Drag all modloader and audiomod files into the jar
  
• Delete the folder titled "META-INF"
  
• Enjoy a pina colada while relaxing under a palm tree!

My buddy MrRube did i'd say 80% of the texturing, but he is a graphics whiz (and he made the video), so it didn't take him too long!

Once I get the rest of the mod in place, I will think about making it SMP. Until then it is an SSP mod only, though.

It really depended on what I was working on. Most of the sprites (flowers, items, etc) took about 15-45 minutes a piece. The skins, like the scale armor, took a few hours.

This is a excellent mod I love it! The flowers and pineapple need to be tweaked a little. The harvest-able flowers and pineapples are fast and easy to get. Punch the top you get the flower/fruit and plant again to exploit it fast. The iguanas are so cute! They need to be a little harder to defeat though. 3 Punches kills them. So far no bugs or glitches Can't wait for the new content!
