The portal to the moon should be made ether from Glowstone, meteorstone (possible new block idea), iron block, gold block, or any other new blocks he might have planed to make.
    On the Moon, you could mine Moonrock, meteorstone (possible new block idea), large quantities of any metal ore, or alien metals. the Moon would of most likely have less gravity, and reduced fall damage.
    There could be new mobs, such as green, bug-eyed aliens, which would drop slime, or alien meat. As with the Nether there could be a chance that the aliens might spawn outside of the portal, into the minecraft world. The aliens may have UFOs which act like Ghasts, but shoot lasers insted.
    The idea is kinda big, so it may be an entire update itself. There is a poll, and if you love it of hate it, voice your opinon.

The moon is one of the oldest ideas there is. It's just not a good idea.

You should organize this thread much better.

For example,
Have your title on the top, in big letters saying *Moon Portal* or *Moon Realm*
Keep a nice introduction paragraph underneath it.

Have several different sections, one for how to get there, one for mobs, and one for appearance and Mineable ores.

Have a ending paragraph, and tell people to reply with their opinion on the idea.

Make sure to think about the idea a lot. Is this idea OP? Is this idea needed? Will both new players, and experienced players use this new method?

Now, OT: I don't really like the idea of adding a moon realm. Other than the fact that it has some new materials (that do nothing so far as what the OP said) and some new mobs. Not really worth using this mechanic IMHO.

I think that a new realm should have its own stuff, i.e. the Nether has Ghasts and glowstone

I also suggest that you search a bit. It doesn't hurt, and it can help you out a lot. A lot of the moon threads have failed and flamed. Look at those threads, and see what they did wrong. Improve on those ideas from what they did wrong, and even ask the OP (if their willing) to help out your thread.

That's one recipe for a good suggestion.
