Here is how

1. Get a texture pack
2. Open it up
3. Select all of the files in the texture pack after you have opened it.
4. right click on it and compress it.
5. keep that finder and open a new finder window
6. User>Library>ApplicationSupport>minecraft>Texturepacks
7. After you have opened all that up, drag and drop the zip file that you just got in the other finder from compressing the files into the texture pack folder.
8. Your Done!!!!!

If you still didnt get it, visit my video on how to install it!

It's said that you only need to delete the MANIFEST.* (or something) inside the META-INF folder on Macs, but I usually leave the whole folder in without any problems

With the knew 1.6.2 update you go into resource packs after compressing all files into an archive.zip and drag the .zip file into resource packs
