Better Grass & Leaves is a small mod which extends grass and leaves by a few juicy pixels.

How To Install
Spoiler:

Better Grass & Leaves Mod [v1.6.4.D]
Not compatible with Optifine in the mods folder unless you patch it with karyonix's fix.
  • Added the option "addBloodTo" to the mod's config file. This option lets you (deactivate the blood)/(define the blood color) for every given entity.
  • Added blood colors for all vanilla entities.
  • Added the options "addBloodTo" and "blackList" to the plugin system.
  • The "addRendererTo" and "blackList" options do now accept class names instead of block IDs (e.g. addRendererTo=better-grass:net.minecraft.block.BlockGrass).
  • The "addRendererTo" option does now accept renderer followed by multiple values separated by ";"-signs (e.g. addRendererTo=better-grass:1;net.minecraft.block.BlockGrass;3;4;5).
  • The "addRendererTo" and "blackList" options do now accept negative (block IDs)/(class names) to remove the given value (e.g. blackList=-1, -net.minecraft.block.BlockGrass).
  • Fixed the plugins-not-working-issue, in case you've installed mods that try to occupy the same block IDs.
  • Fixed the no-particle-issue, that prevented entities/tile-entities from spawning particles.
  • The plugin system is now accessible from resourcepacks.

Better Grass & Leaves Mod [v1.6.2.K]
In case you are using the Better Signs Mod, please update it.
Please delete the mod's config file to make sure that all new features work correctly.
  • Direct downport from 1.6.4.B.

This is great! You should also include a 'better trees' mod with more realistic looking tree generations. If that's possible.

1 questions.

Not exactly sure what this does.

I used this a while ago and it grew grass all over the place so i believe i understand that a part of this mod causes grass to grow. however in teh description is says

"Better Grass & Leaves is a small mod wich takes the function of the Better Grass Mod (from MrMessiah), combines it with the Wild Grass Mod (from ejhopkins) and extends it on trees." Does this mean when you plant a tree it will grow and then continue growing and also if you destroy leaves  they will grow back ? The sideways orientation of the logs demonstrate a growth plane for tree branches?

Good Question! I have'nt thought about this way of interpretation. I'll added the topic "Some Facts" to the description, this should answer your question. :)
But to make it short: No, nothing is growing because of this mod, it's ment to be a visual modification. Except for betterWood, nothing 'physically' changes the Map.

One word: stunning! The landscape looks very organic and the atmosphere heavily increased after the installation. But unfortunately it is not compatible with MCExtended (both are using the cv.class file).

But it is not compatible with MCExtended (cv.class). When you overwrite the cv.class from MCExtended with the one included in this mod the screen turns black after loading a world. When you overwrite the cv.class from this mod with MCExtended you get ugly bugs (sidegrass,...). A fix would be amazing - I want to use this mod and MCExtended ;-)
Thank you! :D
How does this bug look like? The sideGrass function only works with the included cv.class OR the (via Minecraft Patcher/Better Grass) modified one. I could integrate the render functions of the cv.class in my mod, but this would make it incompatible with the HD-Texture-Fix. :(
Perhaps you can find a version of MCEctended in wich the Better Grass Mod is integrated?

Yay! Not only can I stop using MCPatcher to install Better Grass, but I can have more features and win too! :D

Edit: Can't seem to get that property file to work..You didn't exactly tell us where to put it, but I tried config, mods, and the .minecraft folder to no avail.

Also stuck the textures into my terrain.png (of my own texture pack), still this. :P

Yeah it's incompatible with any mod that adds a texture to the game, too. :P

It works with every Texturepack that supports the Wild Grass Mod. The Property-File is named mod_BetterGrassAndLeaves.properties and you have to put it in the minecraft directory (.minecraft).

I edit the description.
