Sorry friends, search bar didn't help neither did the FAQ, but I have to know, where are the save files? I want to get my world 2 from my mac to my brand spankin' new PC with epic GPU. How would I go about doing this?
Also, do the files readily open across the OS's?

going into My Computer, then at the top is "Tools", then "Folder Options"
then in the popup, go to View then "Hidden files and Folders"

Too bad mac doesn't have "C" drive. Its called HDD I hope you know that.

for mac it is like Library/Appdata

/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Data/minecraft/saves
or
/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves
They work perfectly across operating systems.

Thank you so much Dthen! Now its just going to have to be hope that it works cross platform. I hadn't seen the answer yet 251. Its insulting to say that before I even read the most recent answer. I don't thank people who are wrong though if that is what you wanted.

Are you using Mac? If so I have no idea, never used a mac.
But if you're using Windows XP or Vista, then you can also try looking under "C:/Documents and Settings/

You know I've tried even copying and pasting the command line into Spotlight, and I can't find my save files anywhere

What version are you on, because I found it in OS X Leopard. Snow leopard might be different, Tiger will be different. In Leopard, Its @ iMac HD>Users>You>Library>Application Support>minecraft>saves

You're sure it's not in either:
/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Data/minecraft/
or

For anyone else who is having problems, i found my files in.
User> AppData> ROAMING> minecraft.
The key word is roaming... (Windows 7)

I CANT FIND MY GOD DAMN FIELS EITHER. im on windows seven, how do u find them and how do u see hidden files.. this is pissing me off.. been trying for 3 days

I found mine in a folder called Bin. I'm on OS-X though
