going into My Computer, then at the top is "Tools", then "Folder Options"
then in the popup, go to View then "Hidden files and Folders"

The key phrase was "from my mac" not from my PC, I hope people read carefully next time.

/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Data/minecraft/saves
or
/Users/Your User Name Here/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves
They work perfectly across operating systems.

User> AppData> ROAMING> minecraft.
The key word is roaming... (Windows 7)
