Minecraft newbie and when wanting to install portal gun etc and when trying to add it to mcpatcher (What I was using) everything went fine, except when i play minecraft the mod was not there. It happened to other mods like minecolony, steamboat, and the air ship, other than that everything works. If there is a other simple way other than manually.

P.S. I have tried minecrafter but it did not work.

Their is  SUPER EASY way to install mods in seconds! its called ModCraft i did not make this but with this there is 100's of mods in there and more being added. All the mods work all you have to do is check the programs needed and download them by pressing one button then when you have all thats needed you install the mod by 1 click. this also backs up your save file and your minecraft folder completely in case of error or lost of save. All you have to do is check the little box saying back up my minecraft folder and thats it. I think you should just go to the main website watch the video and check it your self if you have more questions or how to use it. just go here : http://www.planetmin...modcraft-34745/

the download link is also their have fun (:

I have a mac, theres not many ways to easy ways to download mods so I just manually install them Its the easiest way I've found. Its preeetty simple once you get the hang of it, just watch a few installation vids and see what type of file goes where and you wont need tutorials anymore.

while searching youtube for this i found (not sure where) this video in german about installing mods (i think his name somewhere is IxXG4m3rXxI). the guy had a little app called the minecraft jar tool that has three buttons for backing up, decompiling and recompiling. if i get a mediafire account or dropbox i'll put it up for you guys. it surely beats entering terminal commands. also, hamster236, it sounds like you didnt install modloader. i made that mistake once.
