One of the main questions I get asked these days is "how can I get more views/comments/subscribers". So, even though I had hoped to do something a little bit more elaborate for my 5000 subscriber special, since it kinda crept up on me and I didn't really have the time, I thought I'd answer this question as best I could.

This video covers a large number of tips and tricks that I consider to be fundamental in building a successful Youtube channel. Best of all, these are things that everybody can do!

Honestly guys, if I can grow a successful channel, you can too... And hopefully these tips will help =) Keep in mind though that none of this means anything if you're not enjoying what you're doing

The video is divided into FOUR main parts:
- Getting Started
- Making Quality Videos
- Marketing Your Channel
- Maintaining Your Channel

No, that would be making successful videos - making successful videos is only a small part of making a successful channel. I've seen countless people on youtube who have great videos, but they have virtually no subscribers, no views, no channel growth all because they haven't marketed their channel, haven't networked, haven't made their channel look more professional.

Except when the channel is too colorful, and some of the color seeps into your vocabulary as you describe it.

No, that's because their videos sucks. If you make good videos, and then just tell people about it (This forum doesn't happen to have a media section, does it?) It will spread.

Are people seriously that picky?

Yes, a lot of people ARE that picky. Quite often just one video wont be enough to get a subscription - someone might like your video and then, as a result, check out your channel to see what your other videos are like. Yes, youtube displays some of the uploader's other videos in the related videos column, but not always their most recent, most viewed, or most interesting.

What is it with you and confusing "channel" with "video"? Would you like me to spell the two words out for you and explain what each of them means? Because, I can assure you, they mean two very different things.

People actually go to the video maker's channel???? Hell, all I ever did was watch the video.

No, I can guarantee that that's not true. I have hundreds of people who are subscribed to me that make great videos and yet have shit-all subscribers or views. As nice as it is to think "make a good video and it will be successful" this just isn't the case. Besides, you also mention "tell people about it" - did you even watch the video I posted mate, or did you just decide to be a douchebag troll? One of the things I mention is to share your video on a relevant forum.
