Ok, so I wanted to test a texture pack I was making, so I copied it to the texture pack folder and started minecraft, then clicked on mods and texture packs, but my file wasn't there. I added .zip at the end and tried agian but it still didn't work. Could it be that I screwed up while editing the texture files? I edited the hearts, can you not do that?

Could it be becuase I screwed up the editing? Like I said, this is the first texture pack I've made. Also, can you edit the health symbol? Could that be the problem?
Also does it have to be a ziped (compressed) folder?

Yes, it has to be a ZIP or WINRAR file for it to register I beleive. You have to put all the files from your Texture pack into a single folder, if that dosent work try converting the folder to ZIP or WINRAR.

Just follow the instructions on the forum thread and you should be good.
